We need more drunken screamers as far as I'm concerned. That's part of the deal at a football game and helps create a home field advantage. Certifiably insane that anyone would go to a game and expect anything else. It's a football game not the Masters.

Slightly related story- the Sun Bowl in El Paso in 2010 was a different crowd than the ND blue hairs were used to and they looked extremely uncomfortable. Drunken screamers galore. But they were so outnumbered they wouldn't dare telling the drunken screamers to sit down or stop screaming. And it was awesome.

Drunken screamers are fine. I love the noise.
The problem is that the there are certain drunken screamers who become "football stupid". Screaming at the coach for not going for it on 4th and 15 and the like. There is an entertainment value, I will give you that. But that quickly fades after the continuous stream of idiotic takes are screamed for the entire section to hear.

I can stomach a somewhat football moron (within reason) as they're loud at the important times.
I was sitting in front of this absolute clown during Cal '22 (so as you can imagine, I was already irritable during the game).
The whole time, he would just be contrarian whenever a play went wrong. Run gets stuffed "we should have passed there!" Incomplete pass? "When are we going to run the ball?" "We should me in man/zone" and I'd bet my bottom dollar he had no idea how to identify either.
Pyne overthrows a wide-open Michael Mayer "This TE has no speed." Yeah, he said "this TE." lol. And his wife/gf kept telling him how knowledgeable he was about football. Worst part? Dude didn't get out of his seat once that I can remember. Not 3rd downs, 4th downs, nothing. Worst kind of fan: Football illiterate and refuses GTFU when the team needs him to.

I love the old fan vs. young fan battles within the ND fan base. Both sides think the other side is the problem when it comes to the atmosphere at home games. But only one of them is right.

Are you a season ticket holder by chance? If so, can I buy your tickets? I stand and yell a lot, drink a lot, I'm not a practicing Catholic, and I didn't go to ND. But I'll pay a drastically reduced price.
