Not sure where else to mention this so I'll drop it here...

In the new ICON video, Kona does the Haka dance with his family on the field after the game. It was amazing. Can't even imagined how that would feel.

Let the speculation rumors spiral out of control today.

Do you think getting hurt makes it more or less likely he returns, or has no effect? I mean, I think we're all assuming he's probably gone, but does getting hurt like this move the needle in either direction, in your opinions?

Diaco would seem to be an obvious one but I would think his stock has gone down this year.

Are they talking about coaches being fired or coaches looking to go somewhere else?

No SPECIFIC names were mentioned....they stated that last year we had the championship and so things were smooth... w/ the losses this year it gets some people disgruntled and pointing of fingers

As long as it doesn't hurt recruiting then I hope they do what's best for the team

Booker and that clown who was calling the offensive plays would be my guess

Bob Diaco is ready to be a head coach.

Let me make this clear. I do not like Bob's defense. I do not like some of the defensive decisions this year. I think there was little coordination between offensive and defensive pages this year; you need more ball control with a bend but don't break defense. You can't put the weight on a defense that is so injured. And I don't like the early linebacker coaching and the blitz selection. But overall Bob has helped grow up a defense in a program that has had little. And if anything, he and Kelly have been too successful, when you look at how far things have grown, quickly.

I would wish him luck, and all the best.

I think you are hearing rumblings from the recruits. Yeargin, (what other coach would make him more likely to question his commitment?

they mentioned that the offense is too heavily dependent on qb play and the defense is too dependent on the dline...which as you see, we haven't had great play on both parts which has lead to losses.

I would like Kelly to make Bobby Elliott the defensive coordinator. I think the players would play for him; I think he has the intelligence of few in football; and I think he is one of the toughest men I have ever known. He has the respect of his fellow coaches, too.

interesting move, cooks would be defensive backs/safeties, elston would remain on line, so we would be bringing in a linebacker coach?

does chuck go back to defense and bring in a new OC??

change is good sometimes, but certainly can alter the family dynamic

It would make a lot of sense to do that.

Are they trying to hint that Martin could be gone when they say that we rely too much on QB play?

That is even better than brining in a safeties coach. Because our linebackers need some attention. But you know, Cooks may be the linebacker guy. I don't know. If you put Cooks in charge of the linebackers, you could bring a new db guy in and he would have plenty of support. Of course you could do the same thing with a lb guy.

not sure, this was mike's feeling on the offense/defense as a whole.....really not sure and don't want to infer one way or another

I would like to see Chuck on D because everybody wants to give Bob Diaco all the credit, and Bobby Elliot was definitely the best addition possible at the time, but for goodness sake, they couldn't have known if he was going to live or die, bless them all!

Chuck really shored up the back end of our defense in the first two years with Harrison Smith, Zeke Motta, bubble gum, and bailing wire. I could see Chuck exceling in the middle with the linebackers. I just don't know if he would drop from the OC to another staff position.

Notes:
In this cycle, Chuck has been getting to know more defensive recruits.

If Everett is half as developed as rumor has it, that should be a wakeup call. With the qb talent going through the roof, someone needs to work with them specifically, and we need a OC that may not "think as much like Kelly as Martin does." I think that is the real problem with Martin, he and Kelly think too much alike. The OC needs to be like Quinn who balanced out and stood up to Kelly.

Hmm, very interesting ... who could it be?

Can't be Martin or Denbrock ... both have been with Kelly for ages.

Can't be Diaco, Cooks or Alford ... they are all superstar coaches who would have no reason to leave except for a head coaching job, and since we have had an unspectacular (but solid) season, I don't see any of them getting one.

Needless to say, the OL has been great. No chance Hiestand is going, unless he is getting blamed for run blocking (I don't think he is, nor should he be).

Although the safety play has been crappy, I don't think it can be Bobby Elliot ... with all his experience he's such a smart defensive coach.

Elston ... I have no reason to believe that Kelly is unhappy with him. The DL has had its problems but they are mostly injury-related.

If I had to guess I'd say Booker ... special teams has been bad at times and his title is special teams coordinator. But at the same time I know the kids love him and he is viewed as a recruiting weapon.

I don't think there's an obvious goat. I guess we'll see what happens.

they are certainly more plugged into the team than i am but it is only their guess(others from isd on the show also thought changes would be made)

Just don't let it be Alford. He must stay. Make him AD if need be.
