I thought the battle didn't match Euron's entrance.
Showing the lightning in the black sky, then the sails on that badass monstrosity slowly materialize. Then Euron drops in with a snarl, a smile, and a battleaxe? Hooo boy he might actually be a pretty decent bad guy, despite his slightly late development.
But then the battle totally underwhelmed after his entrance, more or less. The only good part was his duel with the sandsnakes, where he took some damage and had to earn it.
Tyrion had those map pieces cast via dragon fire shortly after their arrival, off-screen, duh.
Next question: were they unaware of Euron's fleet, or was that a massive tactical failure?
