IMO, Tyrion really should have followed that lead better with his squire -- the unknown man who asked the squire to lie. Obviously this unknown man has a direct involvement/knowledge. But Tyrion didn't even ask for a description.
I hope so, for his sake. As of now, according to him, the only thing he knows is that Cersei wasn't involved.
I still think Cersei was involved. lol
Any Sherlock fans notice who played Tycho from the Iron Bank?
So, wo will be Tyrion's champion in the trial by combat? Who will be the champion for the throne? I haven't read the books, so I honestly have no idea. I'm hoping Oberyn faces The Mountain wraping up a couple of storylines in a single violent act.
My first inclination was that Tyrion would choose his brother, Prince Goldfinger, but he seems to need more practice with his left hand, and if he lost defending his imp brother, I'm pretty sure Tywin would stab Tyrion on the spot ... of course, that might make Cersei happy because she sees her self as the forgotten Lanister child and this would mean she doesn't have any competition for attention from her daddy anymore. Can't wait until next Sunday to see this play out.
Tyrion's second trial by combat is my single favorite chapter in the whole series. No way it lives up to what's in my head, but I still can't wait!
I think you know this but it isn't a matter of Tyrion simply "choosing" someone. That person has to be willing to fight on his behalf.
Any chance Jamie fights for him? It would make sense since they have showed him two/three times this season practicing.

The answer my friend, is no.
