The Bill Nye one gave me a chuckle too.
His wife fought it for a bit, but eventually gave in. Always wanted to name my daughter Zelda. My wife wouldn't allow it. So...my best friend is a vintage toy collector of sorts. He doesn't really work, all he does is buy and sell toy collections, reselling the stuff on Ebay and at toy conventions for huge profits (He's got two houses, several cars, etc). In any case, when it came time for his wife to get pregnant they couldn't think of a name, and of course I suggest Zelda....and he was all over it.His wife fought it for a bit, but eventually gave in.
Someday his daughter Zelda will be betrothed to one of my sons, and my wife can't say shit when we have a Zelda for a daughter-in-law instead of a daughter!

Zelda was my grandmother's name long before it was cool.
I wonder how much of that popularity has to do with late Generation X'ers and Millennials growing up and having kids, people that grew up with the LoZ franchise.Zelda was in baby name limbo for a number of years, but it's making a comeback with the interest in Z (and X) names. It was one of the fastest-rising girls' names of 2015, when it entered the Top 1000 for the first time in nearly 50 years at Number 647.
In Soviet Russia, name was cooler than Siberia, long before grandmother.
Actually, I think it's Eastern European if I recall.
Just went looking around, saw this:
