Sadly, I didn't know who Alice Kramden was, I fail. I had heard the line before, but the name didn't ring a bell. Never saw the Honeymooners:

The hip hop genius Sir Smokes A Lot also referenced her in his classic, "I Wanna Talk to Sampson"......

Whippersnappers!

You ain't lived till you've squinted at a blurry picture on a round, 8", black and white Philco with a pathetic raster rate.

Or stood with your hand on the antenna trying to get a better picture. Or fiddled with the v-hold. Or been jealous of someone who actually had a rooftop antenna. :)

It was syndicated for years and in those days you didn't have 300 TV channels to choose from. Art Carney was hilarious on that show.

The oldest syndicated shows I watched were Nick At Nite stuff in the 80s and 90s like I Love Lucy, Dick Van Dyke, Andy Griffith, Get Smart, Mister Ed, etc. I don't think Honeymooners was ever shown.

This was back in the 70s before cable was widespread. I lived in NJ and some of the independent stations there like WPIX , WNEW and WOR aired a bunch of syndicated shows. If I remember right, The Honeymooners was on WPIX, channel 11. It's a good old show, probably too corny for some people these days.

Linky from last year:

PIX11 celebrates 60th anniversary of ‘The Honeymooners’ with 2-episode special 11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 | New York's PIX11 / WPIX-TV

You should try watching the Honeymooners and the George Burns show. Both are some of the best comedy you'll ever watch.

I went off the cable/dish "grid" about eight years ago. I got by just fine with over-the-air (and Hulu and First Row) in Minneapolis. It's a bit different now that I'm in Jacksonville.

I've had to revert to the age old cure all – aluminum foil dangling from the rabbit ears.

I fondly remember the days when a piece or two of Reynolds Aluminum would save the day.

My better half is addicted to cable channels. I have a 13" tv on a mount in the garage that I made a UHF antenna for out of a piece of wood, some 10 gauge copper and miscellaneous parts laying around. It still works better than any antenna I have bought. Works for me. Kind of similar to this:

But I digress.
