So jealous of you all. I live in Minnesota and we have no snow on the ground. We are off to winter camp this weekend (Scouts) and nothing to play in.

I heard a lot about a Polar Vortex, but damn if it didn't miss us. It's been above the last few days.

Well we got about another 2 inches last night so we are close to a foot. And now the wind is blowing 25 mph and with the wind chill it’s like 5 outside.

Skiing this weekend in PA and skiing today on a free day off (y)

Headed to Tahoe for a week later in the month. Love the snow when it's cold outside.

Definitely unusual for us to get it and not you. This was the first time I had to get the snow blower out in 4-5 years.

I'm considering myself lucky so far. I've seen -10 and it's just barely above 0 right now, but we haven't gotten much snow yet this winter. It's sunny with clear roads in Montana, but cold. I don't think we've had more than about 3-4" total so far this winter.

You guys tell me... is Viginia's capital city of Richmond making any news nationally? Been without running water city-wide and the surrounding counties since Monday afternoon, with no end in sight. It's an absolute shit show, no pun intended.

It’s all about L.A. burning to the ground.

The French/English bilingual member of my team to manage Canada evacuated this morning. This fire is nuts.

Yeah, Richmond's water situation is very suspect. They just had a new Mayor take over and a few days later a colossal multi-level failure of the water system. Batshit!

It's amazing how these people voted to close Santa Monica airport out of which a huge number of these firefighting ops are based. After 2028, aerial firefighting in the LA area will be less effective. I hope this fire convinces people that these airports are actually important.

Never thought I'd see this. Gulf Shores, AL got 6" of snow yesterday. Gulf Shores. Let that sink in. Not a few flakes. 6 inches. On the Gulf coast. Pensacola, less than an hour east of there, got 7.5" of snow.

Snow in Gulf Shores? Beach pictures, videos from south Alabama’s historic winter storm

We got maybe a half inch of snow, and some ice over the top of that. It's not that cold tho. High of 40 today, so all of this will be gone soon.

I live out in the county and my power has been off since 1 am. Running on the genny and a hotspot to wfh today.

eta: aaannndd 10 minutes later, the power just came back on. Gonna wait a bit to make sure it's stable.

Really strange the deep south getting not a light dusting, but inches of snow. Temps have been dipping below zero at night here in Indy. Highs have remained in the single digits, but we get a reprieve with a projected high of 21 today. Hang in there folks.

I'm in New Orleans, and looking at roughly half a foot still on the ground this morning. We had just about a foot fall yesterday.
