"ND blinders...got it! moving on! Just my opinion! "

He was suspended from all team activities for four months. Do you think that was a walk in the park for Mike Floyd? He's been with his teammates for 3+ years and was no longer able to work out, practice, and play with his teammates. The same would have happened in the Fall and would have been out for the season.
The real question is was how ND and Brian Kelly responded: was that what was best for Mike Floyd? I don't see how you can argue that it was not. He spent the time he needed to see what is truly important in his life and now he is all around better person which is what we all want for our Notre Dame players.

Great news, hopefully he really understands now what a second chance he has.

What is the precedent that Kelly has set? Honestly...what does this tell his players? This is a raging debate in our office.

Does this say, you screw up once, we are by your side, but if you do it again, you are gone for good? Does it say four strikes and you are out? What is the message that he is sending?

"From the very beginning of this process, Michael knew what was expected for him to be a member of our football program," Kelly said in a statement. "I told Michael that football needed to become of less importance to him while he worked on personal growth.

Another reason BK is one of the best coaches in college. There are more important things than football. I'm glad he was reinstated. He was punished and hopefully he takes this as a lesson learned for the future.

I don't think there's any hard and fast rule that's being set here.

Floyd's first two "strikes" were MIPs-- a relatively minor offense-- and both occurred out of state. One occurred during Weis' tenure, and the second as Kelly was transitioning into the role.

Linking those with the DUI portrays them as being of equal seriousness. I'm sure Kelly doesn't see it that way.

Ultimately I think Kelly and ResLife are going to weigh the interests of the individual, the team, and the university together. If an offender is genuinely contrite, then he'll be given an opportunity to redeem himself on Kelly's terms.

NDinLA is absolutely going to war right now on wearesc.com.... the amount of conjecture, misstatements and circular arguments is both sad and funny.

He is probably daily aware of Floyd's actions, and aware the college football posters and national reporters talk **** that they don't know about.

Eff anyone who thinks they KNOW how this situation should be handled.

In regards to the haters....I'm sure that we are just biased, don't you KNOW every person at ND who is suspected of a crime, is mentioned in a police report, or makes a mistake millions of adults and college kids make, they need to be executed by guillotine? Duh!!!! ;)

Exactly. When I see fans of other teams talk about Michael's "three offenses" I consider it evidence of their ignorance. When I see ND fans say it I'm just disappointed. I get their agenda. What is the agenda of an ND fan to say that?

MIPs are not what I would consider "serious" and are in no way equivalent to a DUI. I'm not sure what there is to complain about here. In many ways, ND's punishment of Michael was much more lengthy and severe than the game suspension many were hoping for. Instead, the approach Coach Kelly took will be much more effective in modifying Michael's behavior (the ultimate goal here) and as a peripheral benefit the football team does not lose Michael for any games. Seems like a win/win to me.

But I guess some people feel that if they don't get to witness Michael standing uncomfortably on the sideline in street clothes on a Saturday this fall then he wasn't actually punished? I'm confused by this. Seems shortsighted, not to mention it would be the football equivalent of demanding a pound of flesh.

It totally cracks me up that the pole smokers from USC are trying to give an argument laden with ETHICS about Notre Dame!!!! Seriously? Lame Kiffin is the biggest douche pontoon in the NCAA, I bet his breath smells like Summer's Eve.

Read at your own risk. I had to restrain myself from signing up for an account and going at them.

Michael Floyd reinstated - WeAreSC Forums

Wow. I read some of the posts. I believe one of the posters that posted self righteously is the poster that showed up on this site claiming to be a Catholic and ND fan. She (it) was and is a total flake.

"It" has not posted on this site ever since I and maybe Whiskey and Rhode or bery called it out. NDinL.A. sent me a p.m. telling me to chill. Guess what NDinL.A., you were wrong about her. "It" is a total troll. I did not read the entire thread. Once I read "it's" post, I stopped reading. Kick her ***, or don't waste your time on there. Mostly, don't waste your time.

Some people like "it" need to get a life.

Don't click on that link folks.

I think you may be right.

Here's the post Neutered is referencing from 1usctrojan on the wearesc forum:

What is he going to say next time? You know...when Floyd kills someone while drunk, or one of his players rapes or fondles another woman, or he puts yet another student in danger due to a neglect of his responsibilities? Not only as a coach, but as a human being?

I may be a Trojan, but I'm also a practicing Catholic...and as such, I'm ashamed of Notre Dame's recent "issues" and the hypocrisy of stating you stand for one thing, but fail to live it.

They're no better than any secular university...and actually worse, because they claim that God is their figurehead. Baloney.

And here's a post from trojanprincess on our board:

First let me say that I posted two sites with tons of photos of the Song Girls (G-rated) that require moderator approval, lol.

Not surprising how Lane has conducted himself at SC. As you know, we also have a large and powerful group of "golf clap" alums and boosters who contribute a lot of money to the university, and they will not tolerate our coach calling out another PAC-12 coach and bickering like drama queens. The university has raised almost one billion dollars in fundraising since Oct. 2010...any misconduct would jeopardize that, administration and Lane know that.

Meyer runs a gimmick offense, and there is a long list of his "lies" everywhere he has been...I have a link to one of your own sites that chronicles all the false promises of staying, then packing up and leaving the next few days every where he's been.

Lane made it very clear to Tennessee that USC was his "dream job", so they had an idea of what Kiffin would do when offered the job. There was even a big to-do about Lane and his coaching staff attempting to turn TN into USC of the south. It didn't go over very well.

But, no thanks on Meyer...ever.

Note the frequent ellipses and the use of quotation marks. I think 1usctrojan and trojanprincess may be the same person, in which case she is persona non grata around here.

All credit to you for the A+ detective work. I never would have thought to compare the writing styles if you hadn't made the connection first.

Sorry Buddy, had to click it..... Some of their arguments were not making any logic. How easy they forget how the poodle treated players that consistently screwed up. I bet if you were to say what about just recently with the way Bush cheated, 90% of them would say Bush who? And then they have Kiffin, the most trusted, integral, upstanding coach of the year. Let’s just hope when we beat them again this year some or most of the will beat each other senselessly.
