You might be missing my point. No one is denying anyone the opportunity. I always told my wife that I would love for her to earn more than me and she could work or not work, totally up to her. My point is the biological calling and genetics from carrying a baby for nine months is a strong pull for many women and as much as some like AOC would love to see more women in the work force, it's not going to happen. Those stay at home dads love their kids very much, but the majority of women are always going to feel a little deeper connection towards their kids than the man. It doesn't mean the father doesn't love their kids very much.

Nope. I didn't. You may see that I touched on others that were relevant on second reading.

Yes, men can't produce oxytocin.

AOC? Was wondering if someone would drag her into the conversation as their strawwomen. Quite an interesting and varied background. Graduating with the Bachelor of Arts degree with two majors in International Relations and Economics and cum laude from Boston University when her father died while she was in college and working jobs to go through college is impressive for anyone. With the current divorce rate and so many women raising the children in a single parent household, this is a part of our society that needs assistance that the federal government can provide.

I thought her father was pretty well off, no? Going to BU is more expensive IIRC than Harvard. I kinda doubt she paid her own way. Anyway, not sure how she did so well at BU, yet continues to say such uninformed and stupid shit. For having an econ degree (and graduating as high as she did) yet still sounding like a high school kid doesn't speak well for BU.

As for the fed providing more.... why does the fed need to step in when a couple decides to get a divorce. Is child support not a thing anymore. And for those having kids outside of marriage.... don't have them if you can't support them. Condoms, the pill, abstinence, or just some plain old self restraint and commons sense work well. The left's complete and utter disregard for any accountability or lack of interest in treating the cause of such is mind bending.

This is a big one for me with the modern left... that and the constant projecting,... but yeah, they LOVE to scream about how the gov can address the symptoms all day long. They aren't much for discussing root causes tho,... hell if anything they make SURE we don't discuss the diseases by attaching an 'ism' to every discussion. To me it's purposeful and just another manipulation towards the big gov end game.

If you discuss root cause, you're either uncaring, not woke, or prejudice.....

My grandparents had 11 kids (other grandparents had 10), a 4 room house in the country, an outhouse, and a garden. Grandfather had a job working on roads and rail roads for the state, and never took a dime from the government and I can assure you they would have qualified. My grandmother raised those kids, never complained, and neither of them ever asked for anything. Those kids were raised under the poorest of conditions, yet none of them turned out poor, and none complain about their upbringing. I'll get off my soapbox...

Taking the eldest of those children (my Aunt Ruth who is 91) to Naples with my Mother (74) this month. Love hearing the stories of those days. And none of those stories are filled with complaints.

I'll never support the current bullshit of providing welfare to someone that's uninterested in having a job, has a kid and collects more, and continue to have kids and collect more. All you're doing is exponentially compounding the problems and growing the fed and the welfare state. But I guess you're likely growing the Dem base, so why try to fix things.. Same with immigration.

I'd encourage you to talk to people who go to elite schools(particularly out east) and ask them off the record about the way they do their grades.

My aunt teaches at an elite private high school Providence. Did her Post Doc at Brown. Her daughter went to Columbia. They both make fun of the colleges out there. Aunt actually encourages her more motivated students to consider Notre Dame and a few other schools that she says do not inflate grades in an insulting way.

Impressive to work during school? Lmaoooooo bruh, that's like congratulating someone for taking a dump after having a cup of coffee.

Did AOC tell you that?

Oxytocin and male reproductive function.
Review article
Ivell R, et al. Adv Exp Med Biol. 1997.
Show full citation
Abstract
In the male mammal, the small peptide hormone oxytocin is produced in similar quantities within the hypothalamo-pituitary magnocellular system as in the female, yet for the male little is known about the physiology associated with this hormone.

How was college life in the 70s?

very late 80s and 90s. it's called hard work, being frugal and realistic. i had a partial to ND, but even that was too expensive for my parents and i wasn't going to ask them to go into hock after they already sacrificed so much putting me through Catholic school for 12 years. got a top 10 bus undergrad on my own back.

i have buds with kids doing the same. and they appreciate it more. One going to Butler on a ship, another to PU engineering on a partial, and the other Kelley like I did. Sinking yourself into debt is a choice. Tired of the whining.

FIFY. While she and the hormone have many letters in common, I don't see a relationship otherwise. We could call her octavio cortex. That way ACamp and her may have something in common.

In support of Irish#1's assertion, try Googling oxytocin and mother-child bonding post-partum. although lesser increases have similar impacts on men. Not sure why they included magnocellular. Seems excessively neuronic.

I bow to YJ's knowledge of AOC since he seems to know more about her than I do. Still the discussion is worth...

What about the guys that are divorced and raising the family? If a couple decides to get a divorce, then they should understand the consequences and be prepared to deal with them without the government helping pay to raise the kids.

Whether you like to admit it or not, there are differences between men and women from a biological, hormone, X chromosome, genetic makeup. Women are the more emotional one. You don't think a women has a different connection with a child they carried for nine months? That doesn't disappear after giving birth.

Women should work if they want to and earn equal pay for equal jobs. Yet, regardless of how fair the pay is, there will never be the same number of women working because they choose not to.

Several actresses and actors claiming they will not work in any state with these new pro-life laws. These people are such hypocrites lmao.

The dumb broad who plays Sansa Stark just got done working in Northern Ireland for the last 10 years on GoT. Take a look at their abortion laws there.

Disney's Iger stated that they may pull out of GA due to the heartbeat law. But note that, they have a Disneyland in Shanghai and they have discussed putting one in Saudi Arabia. Both of those places have some items that might be a bit worse than GA's heartbeat law.

Following Netflix, most major studios threaten to leave Georgia if abortion law goes into effect in 2020 (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

Netflix on Tuesday and Disney Wednesday helped open the floodgates after both threatened to leave the state for the same reason. Among the production companies that joined in the cavalcade Thursday: CBS, Showtime, AMC Networks and Viacom.

This backlash is happening despite the state’s generous tax credits, which provide up to 30 percent of qualified budgetary items to production companies. More than 450 productions qualified for the tax credit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018, generating $2.7 billion in direct spending in the state. Only New York and California has more TV and film business now than Georgia in the United States.

Shocking that telling people "Real men shave their daughter's faces if she wants to be a boy instead" turns people off...

Gillette devalued by $8B after their #metoo social justice ads criticizing "toxic masculinity." Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. They recently scrapped this ad campaign after disastrous results.

Their first ad in the "we believe" campaign got 1.5 million downvotes on on youtube with only 30% favorable interactions.

The problem with these companies reactions is their failure to really analyze before acting. That vocal crowd they cater to is really a minority. Even those that don't approve of LGBTABC-XYZ will quietly tolerate it if it isn't shoved down their throat.
