Gimme Mercury, Peart, Mccartney, Knopfler (unlisted so $1), and then whoever else I can get for a buck.

Can I get some Nickelback?

But seriously...No Randy Rhoads? Izzy Stradlin?

Prince being double the guitarist of Clapton is beyond silly… fool’s gold there.

I’ll take:
-Mick (9),
-McCartney (2, … super value),
-Eric Clapton (4… again HUGE value),
-Carter Beauford (7, high price but I’d love the collaborative potential with Clapton and McCartney, and I have long said he is one of the best, glad to see him get a bit of recognition here.), and
-Hetfield (Mainly bc I had three dollars left, but I am into the contrast here throughout)

Honestly, that ensemble would be so cool to see…

Funny thing is, if you picked all of the top dollar choices, you'd have one terrible mess of a band.

Plus: No Garcia? List is invalid.

Mercury is the greatest front man of all time. He mixed an incredible voice with even better showmanship. He also had a style that was way before his time. The dude could put on a show without ever opening his mouth to boot (and please refrain from the "opening his mouth" comments).

Corabi fronted the band The Scream then replaced Vince Neil in Motley Crue for one album - their best by the way - and then on to form Union. Great rock voice.

Harry T Cody was lead guitarist for Shotgun Messiah. Early 90's rock band. His work on the album Second Coming is tremendous.

Yes... I grew up in the decadent 80's rock scene.

This is a fun game but as Jughead said it could be a mess. My first thought was....

Chuck Berry -2
Neil Young -5
David Bowie -5
Les Claypool -6
Keith Moon -6

That would be insane!

If banjo were on the list Bela Fleck would be 10 points. That said, Futureman would be a 10 on the drumitar.

I'd be happy with a $5 band made up of all the lowest value guys from that group:

$1 jim morrison
$1 george harrison
$1 ginger baker
$1 stone gossard
$1 john paul jones

works for me, although its tough to pass on gilmour and bonham....hell, lets get em all on stage!
rock and roll baby!
feel bad for some of the youngins who never had chance to experience some of these bands live. records. albums. turntables. vinyl. liner notes.
real bands, not boy bands and one hit wonders walked and ruled the earth not too long ago.
and it was glorious...

Not super big on ozzy, but didn't think any of the other singers jumped out as meshing super well with that group.
Just realized all the other members are known for lead or backup vocals as well. I like it.

My band isn't a jam band. We will focus on pumping out the radio tunes.

The front man will wet the panties: Freddie Mercury (he will not get in them either)

The lead guitarist will keep the music dramatic and beautiful (and will also double as the backup vocals): Eric Clapton

I don't require much from he bass, except a solid bass line and some backing vocals when needed: Paul McCartney

The drums will need to be precise and rock heavy. I'll need a drummer who plays a deeper tone and knows how to play the crowd: Dave Grohl

Finally, my rhythm guitarist doesn't play a big role in this band and I'm spending the rest of my $$$: Neil Young

$25

That is an amazing line up if you ask me.

This is an excellent thread!

I've been a drummer for 20 + years now, so this was very difficult.

I went John Bohnam on drums. One of my all time favorite drummers.
Freddie Mercury on vocals. Favorite singer. (Favorite living singer is Robin Zander.)
John Paul Johns on Bass.
Brian May on Lead Guitar.
Johnny Greenwood on Rhythm Guitar. (Would rather have Paul Stanley or Malcolm Young)
