also, are they saying Mercury is the greatest front man here??
Man, what is wrong with you sometimes?....
I grew up in the 80s listening to Rick Astley and Amy Grant...
so much harder than your ass... levels upon levels.
Oh....that explains it.
Mercury is the greatest front man of all time. He mixed an incredible voice with even better showmanship.
This. What's incredible is Mercury really poured out some great performances at the end of his life when he was really near the end. Some people just fade away, and Brian May said his voice just got stronger. It unfortunately limited him to shorter recording sessions though, and then the end came. Acamp, you should watch some of his live concerts, he really was a great entertainer and had a great command of his voice and range.
As far as my $25...I'm a little pissed that Joe Perry from Aerosmith isn't in the list, he's a Top 10 Lead Guitar imo. I'm also gonna have a hard time picking between Mercury and Steven Tyler for vocals, two very different styles but both are awesome. Both singers have collaborated well with other artists and done harmony, so I'm gonna break the rules have have two singers. It'll cost me in other areas though.
Freddie Mercury $10 Queen
Steven Tyler $2 Aerosmith
Brian May $3 Queen
Stone Gossard $1 Pearl Jam
Geddy Lee $7 Rush
Ginger Baker $1 Cream
It might be a little unorthodox, but that's my group. I went with members from some of my favorite bands. I went low with Stone Gossard as the only other Rhythm Guitars I would have picked were Page or Richards, and I couldn't really afford either. Brian May is a great value at $3, as is Steven Tyler at $2. Geddy Lee could have been the $10 honestly, and I've got no problem taking Ginger Baker for $1. I still have a dollar left over with this lineup.
