If you read his quotes he says the guy showed symptoms but tested negative each test until after he was already in Tallahassee. Dabo is saying that they allow people with colds and ear aches to practices and play even with the negative tests.
I mean in any other year.... yes that kid travels and plays unless he is physically unable to perform. But this year has to be different.
I think Dabo has a point here. They isolated the player once they had confirmation.
Clemson was willing to test everyone again, stay another day or two to get the game in and FSU declined. I think FSU's decline does speak volumes here.
FSU is basically telling everyone that they don't trust the system. Yet, it's the same system that they trusted all year. So what changed now? So either FSU magically developed some sort of moral fabric that has been missing from the school ever since Cleckler roamed the sidelines. Or, they found a plausible out.
Now, Dabo harping on $300K is silly. Yes, Dabo decided to take a 13% pay reduction from his $9.4M compensation. But that still leaves him earning nearly $2M more than what he agreed to in 2017, before Clemson extended him in 2019. Needless to say, if Clemson was hurting so much that a $300K trip is what gets emotions stirred, Dabo should be earning much less this year.
Call it like it is. Dabo wants to build momentum for both the voters and for ACC CG. The fact that he may now need to play a game before the CG versus having 2 weeks to prepare is the real issue. He wanted an extra week while ND would have to play Wake. It's a s simple as that.
