If you read his quotes he says the guy showed symptoms but tested negative each test until after he was already in Tallahassee. Dabo is saying that they allow people with colds and ear aches to practices and play even with the negative tests.

I mean in any other year.... yes that kid travels and plays unless he is physically unable to perform. But this year has to be different.

I think Dabo has a point here. They isolated the player once they had confirmation.
Clemson was willing to test everyone again, stay another day or two to get the game in and FSU declined. I think FSU's decline does speak volumes here.

FSU is basically telling everyone that they don't trust the system. Yet, it's the same system that they trusted all year. So what changed now? So either FSU magically developed some sort of moral fabric that has been missing from the school ever since Cleckler roamed the sidelines. Or, they found a plausible out.

Now, Dabo harping on $300K is silly. Yes, Dabo decided to take a 13% pay reduction from his $9.4M compensation. But that still leaves him earning nearly $2M more than what he agreed to in 2017, before Clemson extended him in 2019. Needless to say, if Clemson was hurting so much that a $300K trip is what gets emotions stirred, Dabo should be earning much less this year.

Call it like it is. Dabo wants to build momentum for both the voters and for ACC CG. The fact that he may now need to play a game before the CG versus having 2 weeks to prepare is the real issue. He wanted an extra week while ND would have to play Wake. It's a s simple as that.

Let the leveraging begin!

Doubt we have a definitive rescheduled answer, unless FSU caves and agrees to travel to Clemson until Sunday/Monday.

Agree all around. I think this is where I land with my limited knowledge. Fsu didnt want to get boa raced and had an out. Dabo is pissed about having to make up a game late in season.

I honestly dont know what Clemson could have done different. If we are going to play these games these are the things that will inevitably happen.

FSU isn't the one publicly lobbying to cancel the rematch.

If it's all a ruse that's not going to work twice.

Agreed.

I’m not saying their last cancellation was baseless either. I feel it’s clear one athletic department wanted to play more than the other. If FSU was boisterous about refusing to reschedule, that would be baseless.

Right. You know Dabo was counting on this game to get Trevor some game reps and what better team to ease back into live action than FSU? The thing Clemson has going for it is that the back half of their schedule is a cakewalk whereas ND’s is backloaded w/ tougher opponents (CU, BC, UNC, WF) than their first half (Duke, FSU, GT, UL, Pitt).

Plus, Dabo had it set up where he gets a bye before ACC CG and ND has to play WF. Now that’s in jeopardy. ND should throw some shade by offering to play Clemson’s travel to Tally. After all, despite all the revenue Clemson football has brought in, it’s reported that they’ve overspent while ND is sitting on a pile of dough w/ their endowment & conscientious spending.

Question. Since number of games played no longer impacts anything per the committee, cant ND just say they have covid until the ACC championship?

heck for that matter, would the ACC championship matter then? What if ND has covid ACC champ week or the week after?

Yes very tongue in cheek but all Im hearing is lets give the B10 a cakewalk (or should I say OSU)

Minimum of 8 ACC games need to be played to play in championship. So one more game would have to be played. I agree with overall sentiment though.

Screw Dabo. After watching his antics on the sidelines against calls and having the refs reverse their calls. He has the ACC in their back pocket.

Yeah. He's a jagoff.

Was kind of likable for a minute but now he's just another dick in an industry of dicks. Keep him.

Wonder if FSU is making up covid #'s to avoid having to play another game this season?

Hoping Michigan does the same to stick it to OSU. Fuck the B10.

Honestly I would like to see FSU play Clemson now just because we all hate FSU and it would be cool to see Clemson win 84-0.

Backing out on Virginia last minute a week after doing that to Clemson highlights a loop hole the conference should close on testing prior to travel to avoid day of game cancellations, a few hours before the noon kickoffs. However with 2-3 weeks left, it likely will keep everything the same.

Rescheduling of note - Virigina is also slated to play V Tech on 12/12, leaving that date open and with only Clemson as a dance partner with no prior commitments.

Since Dabo and crew got their home game with Pitt out of the way, I would be surprised if the FSU game wasn't figured out prior to their trip to V Tech on 12/5.

FSU may still play Virginia on 12/19, similar to Miami/G Tech, as neither will be in the championship game.

I hope we don’t have to play on Dec 12th without Clemson having to play that day. It would be giving them a bye week before the ACC Championship.

Acc should come up with covid issues right before CCG to ensure two entrants

As much as I like the bye week mentality, look at our games after the bye week and we look very rusty until late 2nd quarter or even the half... didn't Clemson have a bye before us?

2-6. Starting QB (who was 3rd string in training camp) has been roughed up (since he’s a running QB and they ran him too often with a crap OL - he lead the team with 19 carries, and 4 sacks, vs only 24 passing attempts against us), backup QB and best O lineman out for the year, best D lineman and WR opted out....

Do they punt on the rest of the season? Reschedule Clemson on 12/12 as a 5 TD underdog and/or Virginia as a 2 score underdog on 12/19? Any motivation to be 2-8 instead?

I’m fully interested as this directly affects ND - playing Wake on 3 weeks preparation (even if virtual due to their Covid protocols) the week before Clemson while Dabo, Venables, and Elliott may be on a bye prepping more than they would be going up against a pitifully overmatched FSU, plus travel.

Clemson played BC the week before our game with them. I don’t want to give Dabo any advantage.

That's their 4 star QB for 2021 gone now, their class will likely crumble further before NSD

The ACC needs to look long-term regarding this if they ever hope to have ND join the fold. ND would have a good case to call “foul” if the ACC granted permission to cancel the FSU/CU game but insist ND travel to WF. That’s a bad look.

Seriously that would be awful. I hope Jack can drop some law shit on them.

"Our contract says we would need to join the ACC first before signing a contract with another conference. Well we were a member in 2020 and now we're gone. Bye Felicia"
