I loathe Chelsea but have to admire them going after youth. They could be a good team for many years with the young guns they are bringing in. I like Frank as a manager too. He has made some great decisions in game but also has been exposed a bit but I chalk that up to inexperience.

Not sold on Frank as a manager yet. Let’s see how the next couple of years progress.

Looking forward to seeing Frank, Bruno, Jose in the second go around.

Guess Messi is staying at Barca, at least for this upcoming season.

No way Bartomeu can exist with Messi, especially after what notredomer23 said (Lionel Messi to Goal: "I wasn't happy and I wanted to leave. I have not been allowed this in any way and I will STAY at the club so as not to get into a legal dispute. The management of the club led by Bartomeu is a disaster").

I actually thought they fired him shortly after Messi said he wanted to leave.

Seems pretty strategic by Messi IMO. Paint a picture that Barca is a mess and it’s entirely Bartomeu, begrudgingly return to Barca as to not have a legal battle and because you love Barca. Step 3 has to be Bartomeu resigns/gets fired.

He leaves on a free in a year, my money is on Inter and not City.

I don’t think anyone is going to England for their twilight years. Italy seems like the spot (Ronaldo, now Suarez).

Didn't Bartomeu offer to voluntarily leave if it meant Messi would stay?

This tells me Messi’s last play is to get Barth out.

Aston Villa have signed Ollie Watkins from Brentford for a fee of £28m, potentially rising to £33m in add-ons.

He has never kicked a ball in the Premier League. That's quite a bit of money.

Fulham better not get too settled in the Premier League. Leeds should stay. West Brom may also have problems.

Cristiano Ronaldo first 101 games with Manchester United: 66 goals

Mohamed Salah first 109 games with Liverpool: 76 goals

Ronaldo was one of top two players in the world at the time in a front three that was nearly unplayable.

Salah gets taken for granted by LFC supporters and EPL football fans alike.

This isn't to take anything away from what Salah has done because he has been incredible, but Cristiano left Man U when he was 24 and not even close to his peak, whereas Salah didn't even join Liverpool until he was 25. Tough to compare the two like for like.

Wasn't realy a comp, but that's fair. His career got off to a slower start. Maybe if Mourinho had done things differently, his Premier League clock would have started ticking sooner.

Just pointing out the guy gets taken for granted. Liverpool supporters in particular, but the rest underrate him too. He completely exploded onto the scene with Liverpool and was considered a "Chelsea reject". That bar was set so incredibly high because of that first year. It was going to be hard to put up those kind of numbers consistenty, but that became his benchmark.

He got left off of the POY list and I think he's hungry again, not to mention Vardy getting the Golden Boot last year. He looked possessed on Saturday. Hopefully more of that.

Salah is a consistent, relentless producer. $30M should make him one of the best bargain value transfers ever, near the top of that list anyway.

The "One Year Wonder." Going on four years. LOL

I believe that the Mane Affair did Salah good and he's become a better team player. I stand by my view of him as selfish and not giving as much as Mane did to the team before that, but now he seems to be making better team decisions and I believe the post-goal celebrations by his teammates are even more genuine. I also believe that Klopp has probably gotten on his case about certain things, which I no longer see.

So, live long and prosper Mo Salah.

Thiago from Bayern to Liverpool appears to be happening. And it is happening for less than what Leeds paid for Rodrigo.

Curious to see what the First 11 will look like now, but if this guy stays relatively fit, it's going to be fun to watch. Shaping up to be a crazy English Premier League season now.

I don't know how this front office manages some of these purchases and sales, but it is really interesting to watch.

Spurs gettting Bale back on loan from Madrid for some serious coin. He's still a good player and should be re-energized coming back to London. How Jose deploys him will be interesting.

This should be good...

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...n-to-seal-spurs-loan-after-undergoing-medical

Bale will arrive on a one-year loan and continue to earn his basic £600,000-a-week wage, with Real paying a percentage of it; the Wales winger will become the highest-paid player in the Premier League. Reguilón, the 23-year-old left-back who excelled on loan for Sevilla during their Europa League-winning campaign last season, will join for £27.6m on a long-term contract. Both players have already completed their medicals in Madrid in line with Covid-19 guidance.

The Reguilón deal will take Spurs’ net spend on fees during this window to a little more than £50m – their other significant purchases have been Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (£20m) and Matt Doherty (£14.7m).

Hate to see Thiago leave but he said he wanted a new challenge. Playing for Klopp in that squad would be mighty appealing. Rumors Bayern will use the transfer fee to offset acquisition of Dest from Ajax (and USMNT). Fills the needed RB backup. Might could use a 4th winger, too.

He turned down an extension from Bayern and nobody else swooped in for a bid in the last month to six weeks. Seems like the smoke to this move was going to be fire and the two sides had their minds set to make the deal.

This has to be the most decorated incoming transfer in the club's history. Klopp Effect.

Have seen a couple of pundits already tweet that this move flips their pick of Liverpool from second to first. I must admit it gives me a bit more confidence they can win the title, but I am hoping that they can snag another player to spell the front three. Sarr from Watford sounds like it has some legs, but I think it might be another Jamal Lewis situation. Watford won't budge on price, Liverpool move on to their next option.

Can't wait for the weekend.

Lock Michael Edwards in a room with a bald man for an hour and he will have sold him a comb.

I'm not worried about.

Reports that Liverpool have put in a bid for Sarr and have inquired to Barca about a loan for Dembele. Shit is getting real.

If they hit on of those transfers...poor England lol this could be lit af.

A midfield with Fabinho, Thiago, Hendo, Keita, maybe Winjaldum(?) As options is dirty.

Wonder if we'll ever give TAA a shot in midfield. Hes really not a good defender lol.

There will be outgoing sales as well. They may not be done. They could dig in and still go for Sarr, etc.

Remarkable day. Have always liked Jota and that Wolves squad. Great pick up.
