NICE! Lennon will get the best out of him.

On that note how has Gedion Zelalem gotten along since leaving Rangers... I honestly have heard almost nothing of him.

Still with Arsenal. Signed an extension in the winter I believe. Had a major setback with an ACL injury, and complications arising after the surgery. Hasn't played in over a year.

Yikes and a ball just randomly takes a funny bounce right to a AEK striker for an easy equalizer.

Celtic have really been the better side most of the night are now up a man and have a half hour to go 1-1.... it could be super deflating if they don't nick at least one here.

Greeks look content to sit back and ride out a 1-1 draw, which makes total sense from their view... it'll take a few bounces and such to hold the score though imo.

ONe of those frustrating games were your team is living in or around the opponent's box but seems totally out of ideas...

Looked the better side all night but that was with one of the world's better home field advantages... I doubt the flow of play continues this way in Greece. Pretty deflating given how wacky this current system is...

Yo Acamp, looks like Daniel arzani is coming your way

Saw that, don't know anything about him but it's for two years... we need CB's more than anything... doubt we do anymore additions if they don't make the groups.

Very happy with the result especially considering the Red Card. AEK may just try and get the 0-0 draw

Shaqiri under Klopp should be interesting. People had doubts about Gini Wijnaldum and Robertson. Both have shined under Klopp at Liverpool. I expect the same from Shaqiri.

Everyone was hot for Jorginho, and for as good as he is, I understand it. He's a great addition to Chelsea, but I think from what I've seen of Fabinho he's perfect for Klopp's Liverpool and an upgrade from Emre Can. Fabinho is younger and cost a bit less than Jorginho. Very good in his own right on the ground and in the air. It was a hell of a deal Liverpool got. Tall rangy guy who covers a lot of ground.

They'll go for Fekir again in January more than likely, or they'll start looking for another attacking midfielder if they've truly moved on.

Should still be City's to win. I don't know that anyone other than Liverpool did anything to help themselves this summer. It was a World Cup summer, but business got done. Spurs and United didn't do enough to bolster their squads.

Celtic just signed Emilio back to the squad after being gone a year... I'm happy because he's one of my fav Celtic players of this generation but I'm also like, "Okay Celtic, like, do something and sign someone who is actually going to contribute moving forward..."

EI is more just depth and veteran presence than anything at this point.

I feel like the Thibault Courtois to Real Madrid move just kind of slipped through the cracks. Anybody have any thoughts on it?

How is Chelsea's keeper situation without him now that the Premiership transfer window is closed?

Pool is dominant today. Nice to see a strong performance to start the season without a real defensive mid.

Kinda crazy that Weah is actually playing for PSG and it wasn't preseason hype... 2 goals in 2 competitive matches, and gets to sub in for Neymar. Not bad for 18 years old.

1. Manchester United seems like an awful place right now. Even when they win, everyone is gloomy. Pogba says he can't say what he wants or he'll be fined. Not a good situation in the long term, is it? Teams have won while being dysfunctional and not liking each other, but Year Three with Mourinho is typically toxic wherever he's been recently.

2. I know what Ozil was and I know what he is now. Any hype around this guy is based on the past. He was absolutely horrible yesterday, and it has nothing to do with German people being racist either. Arsenal is in trouble. If Kroenke is taking over a majority of the team, they won't be coming back any time soon.

3. Ruben Neves from Wolves...what a player. He's probably going to sell for $70 million next summer. If you didn't know who he was before this year, you're going to.

4. Huddersfield and Brighton won't have enough to stay up. It will be a struggle for them. After that, Fulham and Cardiff look like they're the other contenders for relegation.

5. I thought Newcastle showed some grit against Spurs. They should have enough to stay up. Rafa is a good manager. Good support. Dick owner. Just a bit unlucky vs Spurs.

6. Still have to think City will defend their crown this season. Probably could have put another couple in yesterday. Their back four will determine if they defend their title again.

7. Chelsea is going to be interesting to watch. New manager, new system, Jorginho in the midfield. I don't know if they will finish Top 4 but they're going to be interesting to watch moving forward. Fresh start for a lot of those players.

8. Liverpool now appear to have a squad that can finally break down the lower block, which means a lot of draws the last two years could be come wins. That puts them in title contention and gives them a chance to chase City. Keita looks like he's going to be the player we all thought Pogba would be. Him running the middle of the park behind that front three? Enjoy. Firmino's work rate is off the charts. Mane appears to have worked harder and gotten better. He's cutthroat relentless. Salah scores again and will be a constant threat. Milner keeps getting better with age. Robertson may end up being the best left back in England at the end of the season. Other than a few Alexander Arnold crosses that were all over the place and Gomez falling asleep on a counter, there wasn't much to gripe about. They dominated as most thought they would. They should have the ball against Palace a lot in a week.

9. Southampton should have had a PK at the end vs. Burnley.

No fax machine issues, evidently.

Keita --- not being an overall soccer student, I didn't know anything about him. BUT ... sure it was West Ham, but he fit perfectly with the Liverpool attack and "philosophy." Most of his passes were "instant" and he seemed preternatural at knowing where everyone was.

The work rates for many of Klopp's Blitzkriegers were astounding. I don't know whether I've ever seen anyone work harder than Robertson and Milner did in half one. Can't believe they can sustain that all season. But they might be bionic.

The new guy from Switzerland (Shilikic ??? way off on spelling) looked like a ball of electricity out there, and fitting in with the blitzkriegers on offense --- should be alarming to other teams. He seems to me to demand some playing time --- midfield obviously (if anywhere not giving breathers to one of the three-headed monsters). But not for Henderson nor Keita, and I just think Milner is the greatest unsung player in the EPL. Klopp has to be grinning ear-to-ear.

On another front: I thought that Leicester City looked better than ManU for the majority of the game. Even a disappointed Harry Maguire played hard. When Vardy came in, they got REAL dangerous as well.

He's the engine they've needed for a while. Keita with that front three is going to be scary.

I think they brought in a new physio from Bayern last year.

Shaqiri. He was a starter for Stoke. He's going to come off the bench, start here or there when needed. He is versatile, just as Klopp likes.

I agree. Manchester United will be interesting to watch this year. Jose, Year 3.

Liverpool have not conceded a Premier League goal at Anfield since February.

That's why they paid what they did for Virgil Van Dijk.

I'm not even that upset with the game yesterday for Arsenal. WHen Laca came in, the team was instantly more exciting and made pushes towards the box. I think Ozil was not good, but his vision was there. He made nice attempts with the ball, but it never got to where he wanted. So, at least he is seeing the play ahead of him.

Cech cannot play from the back, that's going to be a problem until Leno takes over. I thought Bellerin looked like the player he is supposed to be, marauding down the flank in support, and playing good defense. Torreria is going to replace Xhaka at some point you have to believe.

The attack is there, it's all dependent on how the defense plays to at least make a run at Top 4, but I don't think we get there.
