ManU: bad news for ManU haters I think. This guy Matic alongside Pogba looks too good for everyone else's mid-field health. It was only one game but DAMM he looked good vs West Ham.

Man U trashes a poor West Ham side at Old Trafford in first fixture and everyone is crowning them champions.
Chelsea fans were booing at half time. They were champions last season. There were also chants of "Spend some fucking money", which surely screams irony as much as any chant you'll ever hear ever.
Strange days indeed.
that money is going to Roman's ex wife. gonna be a heck of an expensive divorce for him
Crazy how one rich guy's failing marriage appears to be ruining Chelsea's season before it starts. I mean, they need players! Freaking CHELSEA started a guy who had never played a premier league game before, and the club had, what, three more guys like that on the bench? And they have Champs League to contend with this year. The squad is way too thin right now. It's just bizarre for Chelsea of all clubs to have that problem.

Emcee: I agree about "the entire team" viewpoint, but some of the teams I've watched manage to get their Airspace controller on the ball heading stuff violently (not wimpily) out of there nearly all the time. (Although having a rough day [not all his fault], Pique headed every corner except maybe one for Barca vs Real Madrid the other day; I've seen Fellaini and Vidal bullyboy nearly every one defensively too.) One muscleman can do an awful lot to help this.
Transfer revolution: Window to shut before Premier League season starts next year
No more transfers between EPL clubs once the season starts in August. Beginning next summer, it seems.
Yup, if that lineup stays healthy they are seriously challenging--I think they'll finish 2nd. Man U only gave up 29 goals last year. Adding Matic to the fold it's hard to see that number changing much.
The Matic/Pogba midfield totally owned the midfield and freed up Rashford down the wing. West Ham was poor in the midfield last year though. Still, United will probably have a lot more 3-1 and 4-0 wins this year compared to 1-1 and 1-0 games last year.
Pool up 1-0 at half. Im listening on the radio. Very back and forth. Migs had a big penalty save
That was a heart-breaker.
I've been in Nippert for some huge UC games (during the BK years, especially), but it has never been louder than it was last night after FCC took a 2-0 lead.
Then NYRB asserted themselves as the MLS side and put on an offensive clinic that Cincy didn't have the depth to deal with as the game wore on.
NYRB's striker had two of the most perfect headers you'll see in a match.
Awesome game, a sellout at 33k, and Don Garber was in the house to see the atmosphere for himself. That was cool.
As Liverpool try to ignore Phil Coutinho's pleas to leave the club, they are still trying to beseech Virgil Van Dijk to join, and turn his back on Southampton.
That looks like it won't happen however, as the club's chairman Ralph Krueger had told the Independent that the club are very firm in their stance that Van Dijk will not be permitted to leave the club.
Southampton have recently sold a big stake in the club to Chinese investors, and they are adamant that they will no longer be a selling club.
Krueger told the Independent:
Virgil is not for sale in this window and it's not personal. It's not about him, it's about an overall much, much, much bigger picture - a change of course for Southampton.
The first summer I was here five players went out and six went in, not counting academy.
Second summer three went out, seven came in, and third summer five went out, five came in.
Now it is one out and two in, and this is who we want to become....we are very, very adamant about carrying this through.
Whereas they will hold firm remain to be seen, but it is certain that the Saints are more adamant about the Van Dijk situation than they have about any other potential transfer at the club of late.
