I think he has a great future. He's just behind two vets that have a history of putting the ball in the net and Bobby Wood getting it done in a bigger league on the depth chart.

Also, not having a great club year. Last night was far and away his best game in all competitions this year.

I'd love to see Rimando get a game in a WC setting, just from a fan perspective, dude has earned it IMO.

But that's just me speaking as a fan. Always loved Rimando, one of my fav US soccer players ever.

A lot can happen from now til Russia but as of now he probably makes the team but plays little... that's just where he's sitting right now.

I'm rooting for him though... a top two of he and Wood assuming both grow into what we think they can be is a fun thought to have.

I can't argue the specifics but I saw one thing in these last two games.

When Panama attacked down their left side, they made life crazy stressed for us.
When Martinique attacked down their left side, they almost always got immediately snuffed.
The difference? Zusi vs Lichaj.

Zusi was horrible. The most disaster-promoting player in the game (if Gonzalez wasn't cleaning his crap up constantly we'd have lost that thing by at least two goals). My amateur view saw Lichaj as the solidest player we had in his game (give Morris credit for the two goals and really good play, and a few others like Gonzalez, who makes better saves than announcers give him credit for, and a surprising Zardes.) In fact Lichaj looked so good (both ends) that I'd REALLY like to see him play out this cup to see if this was a fluke.



If I was starting a team just now, it would be Howard (please God let him be healthy), Cameron and either Brooks or Gonzalez at CBs, Yedlin and either Villafana or Lichaj at outside backs, Bradley and Pulisic for sure, Nagbe probably, Wood and Dempsey, and one other midfielder ........ hmmmmm ..... Johnson? Kljestan? Corona? Arriola? --- can SOMEBODY please show some last third footskill and passing accuracy please?

Not off on Lichaj vs Zusi... it makes sense though as Zusi is not a natural defender. Sadly this is true for many of those who have played DB for USMNT in recent years.

So thankful Yedlin is young, hitting his stride and back in the Premier League this year. Sadly, the depth behind him is terrible and unfortunately Timmy Chandler is the perfect case study of a guy that performs for club but not country.

Considering what City just paid for Kyle Walker, getting Robertson at the reported price they're paying is a steal.

I see they are moving Lucas to Serie A as well. Selling Lucas for $5M and buying Robertson for $8M is good business.

I like Robertson. He was cut as a youth by Celtic for being too small and has gone out of his way to prove himself at the club and international level. A Scot bombing down the left at fullback? Vintage Stevie Nicol!!
