Was doing a season wrap up for the Galaxy... crazy that Gerrard only had 3 assists, I know it was an abbreviated season but still. Also, Omar was the highest rated player on the entire team for the entire season.... and Mexico wouldn't have scored two of their goals if Omar was on the field...

Since I don't know much about soccer [particularly the ratings of the individual players] I went to the site above and scrolled the whole set of teams. I don't know how they do ratings, but there were only four [maybe five] players in the entire league with ratings higher than Gonzalez, only one of whom was USA --- even Dempsey and Bradley were not as high. If this is any sort of true mark of a player's quality, why wasn't Gonzalez playing vs Mexico?

I'm not sure how credible that WhoScored ranking is, OMM. According to Transfermarkt, he's the 38th most valuable American player.

hmmmm..... puzzling. They seem to be two different sorts of things --- one a gauge [undescribed as to how determined] as to what someone should pay for a player, and the other an evaluation [undescribed as to how determined] as to how a player just performed in the MLS.

So, I'm still confused by this. Added to my really inaccurate eye-test watching the USMNTs games {where with a mistake here or there I thought he played better/solider than the other ["center backs" is it?] players at his spot}, I'm still confused.

I also remember Alexi Lalas saying on the run-up to the game vs Mexico, that his starting US line-up would have Gonzalez in that position.

Age and potential tend to play a huge part in transfer values in a league like the MLS,... Omar, right or wrong, is viewed as 'potential met'... Player ratings are a very commonly accepted way to rate a players form and overall quality, world wide...

I would also say transfer market needs to re think their listings, even the biggest Omar haters couldn't defend Herculez Gomez, Luis Robles or Lamar Neagle ( just to name a few) being listed as higher transfer value....

It has been unbearable to watch them... But I dont think the board can really get rid of Jose. There's no one to replace him. I really wish the never got rid of Mata and Schurrle. People dont realize how much they helped that squad. Willian is the only one playing what hes worth.

I agree that as bad as they've looked, it would be hasty to get rid of Mourinho. It seems crazy to jettison a coach who just won you a title after 1/4 of a bad season.

I also agree, and am stunned, at the fact that Willian has been the one guy pulling his weight this year. He was so ineffective in the first half of last year that CFC went out and bought Cuadrado in January as a potential replacement. That seems to have pissed Willian off because he has been worlds better ever since.

Right?? I mean we are approximately 1/4 of the way through the season. Imagine if Urban lost his first three games this season. Would OSU fire him? No way.

Okay, I said I wouldn't watch the epl with the Bundesliga on fox and meant it, so I had no clue what their record was... They've lost five games... Smh, yeah, soccer fans are crazy. And if I needed any more reason to give up on the epl, there's Newcastle sitting at the bottom of the table... No thanks.

6 losses from 11 games. I just don't see how Chelsea can sit still and tolerate it. You don't just win the title and then get regularly beat. Liverpool, as much as I want them to be awesome, are not very good at the moment.

Unfortunately it's not about when in the season they get fired. There are only so many points to be had that will get you in the top four. Chelsea have dropped a ton of points with losses very quickly. If they want to get to 70-85 points they have to right the ship immediately.

Portland vs Vancouver is on right now and if you want to see how good MLS has gotten, this is the game to watch. There are also a few future USMNT stars in this game in Darlington Nagbe and Kekuta Manneh.

Unbeaten in Six games with 3 wins. Much better. Lots of improvement in the team. He is also calling in a lot of the on loan youngsters and putting them in. It's great to see.

Damn, it sucks that Marc Pelosi couldn't have stayed healthy and could have hung on a little longer at Liverpool for when Klopp got there. He started playing for San Jose regularly towards the end of the season.
