watching Bayern get embarrassed in the second half was not something I'm used to seeing. It will be interesting what they do in the home leg.

If they were going to play those tactics, they needed Arjen Robben in the side.

Still, if Lewandowski put in that one he whiffed on, who knows, might have been a different game.

Messi is just not from this planet. Just totally on a different level. It is amazing how he just toys with defenders. He made Boateng look absolutely silly on that second goal.

playing 3 at the back vs messi, neymar and suarez was definitely puzzling, im sure they expected the wingbacks to help out by they were never going to be able to cover that much ground.

Would have totally been a different game. Why they took Muller off was puzzling. He was the only guy looking dangerous out there.

I am really missing Shaqiri right now. It might be time to start thinking about life after Robben and Ribery. Maybe they already have, I don't know.

No idea why Goetze didn't start either. If you're going to play wide open against Barce without Robbery, why leave Super Mario on the bench?

They're both too old to be relied upon. Bayern should have picked up Reus from Dortmund during the last transfer window.

Gotze is the best player on just about any field in the world..... I said it... Why he isn't the focus of Bayern, let alone not playing more period, is beyond me.

He hasn't scored in something like two months. He should have been playing though...Thiago should not have been the wide left guy.

It's not all about scoring tho, Iniesta, for my money, was one of the best players on the planet five, six years ago... Dude hardly ever scored... But did just about everything else... Gotze is obviously a richer goal scoring threat than my example ever was but can do so much...

Gotze is up there and may very well be in that category one day, but he is not there yet.

I don't think Pep's game plan was necessarily bad. Why not try to catch Barca off-guard and steal an early goal. That D has been suspect at times this season. But like you guys, if I was going to do that, I'd have started Goetze.

It's really a shame that Bayern has the injuries it has right now. I'd love to see these two teams go at each other at full-strength. All due respect to the teams in the other semifinal, but I think Bayern and Barca are the two best teams in the world. The game was just a joy to watch the other night.

Bayern full strength would have beaten Barca IMO. Bayern was without Alaba, Robben, and Ribery, three of the players with the most pace. Outside of them, the player with the most pace was probably Lewandowski, and he isn't exactly a burner. Even with just Robben and Alaba, I think it would have been entirely different.

Some good matchups on this morning. Looking forward to Leicester City and Southampton actually. Leicester has been one of the most fun teams in the PL to watch over the last 7-8 games.

Looking forward to the Crew-Sounders game tonight. NYCFC-NYRB tomorrow in the first NY derby is gonna be interesting as well.

West Brom goes up on Newcastle... If Newcastle loses and Hull wins, they are in the relegation zone.

Stoke now up 2-0 on Spurs. Yedlin on the bench. Geoff Cameron starts.

Aston Villa up 1-0 on West Ham. Brad Guzan on bench after being relegated from starter a week ago after a terrible mishap against Man City.

Leicester now up 2-0.

Lots of goals so far.

Sweet set piece .

Right in the baws .

Love it , too bad that piece of shite Pardew is not at the helm .

I gotta say though, Newcastle has not looked that bad. I feel like they will probably get an equalizer, unless West Brom gets another set piece. West Brom does not look too threatening outside of the set pieces.

What a run for the Foxes. They were one of my favorite teams to watch last fall, then they hit that long dreadful run, and now they are one of my favorite teams to watch again.

Newcastle has way too much quality to be so bad. Not sure what their problem is. But at least they got a point today.

Man, I thought Palace was going to at least equalize with Man U. They were the better team today. Man U scores a goal on a penalty that was probably the right call but could totally have gone uncalled and no one would have been outraged, and then Spuroni runs into his own guy to give Fellaini a free header on the second goal. Bullshit both times.

Leicester is a team to watch next year because they have a billionaire owner who is willing to spend. He was quoted saying he would spend up to 200 million last transfer period but obviously FFP prohibited that. If they spend even half that this period, look out.

City beating QPR 6-0 with a few minutes to go, Aguero with the hat trick.

QPR and Burnley definitely relegated now, with the final spot being contended for by Hull City, Newcastle, and Sunderland. Sunderland has a game in hand, but there is a decent chance they are going to be the third team because they close with Chelsea and Arsenal which should both be losses, but before that, they have Leicester who has been red hot. Hull City has Tottenham who is injury ridden and on a run of poor form and then Manchester United who is very beatable this year, especially since they will likely have their Champions League spot locked up by then.

Yeah, that's a tall order for Sunderland.

Man U basically has Champs League locked up, right? To go ahead of Man U, Liverpool has to win both remaining games by 3 or 4 goals and Man U has to lose them by a similar margin. Man U does have Arsenal still to play, so that could get ugly, but Hull isn't going to hang 3 on them.

I don't think Newcastle will go down -- they certainly have the easiest remaining schedule -- but I hope this near-death experience shocks the club into doing something this off-season. They have too much spending power to be so bad. They lost their manager to a much poorer club that's 5 places ahead of them in the table. Embarrassing.
