Moyes' predictable contain and counter strategy worked pretty well for the first hour. I got pretty nervous after Evra put them up 1-0.

I gotta say, pucker factor was off the charts, particularly when ManU scored that goal, but, it was like they woke up Bayern. Boys looked pissed, especially Mandzukic, and then the flood gates opened.

Also, the ref sucked, but it was an equal opportunity suck where he missed a lot of calls against both teams. Not ticky tack stuff, either. I like it when they let the game flow, but it was almost out of his hands, IMO.

If they draw Chelsea in the next round, things could get interesting. Thibaut Courtois is on loan from Chelsea, and it is not clear yet if he would play in the match-up. I have seen reports that say Athletico would have to pay a couple million dollars extra.


Although, after a quick twitter search it looks as if he would not play. That would be huge. He is arguably the best keeper in the world right now.

Great win today, Hendo will be missed these next 3 games though, but I have faith in Allen, he played well today coming in as a sub. Hopefully Sturridge is good to go for Chelsea, I don't think he will be needed for Norwich because Suarez will just score a hat-trick because…you know…it's Norwich.

I have to give it up to Clatterberg overall. Tough game to oversee and he let a lot of stuff go. Suarez most definitely should have been sent off for simulation and the Hendo red card w as legit. SOOOOOO glad Webb was not chosen.

I did not catch the ESPN but there are a few BBC documentaries on youtube. The live footage and breakdown of the timeline is definitely hard to watch. The setup for the terraces and pens are tragic. I cannot conceive how that was allowed.

It literally looked those people were being herded like livestock. I just don't get how the police/stadium staff could allow that to happen. I have no problem waiting in line longer to determine SRO capacity if it ensures that I don't get into a situation like that.

As a Liverpool fan, you'd like it. It gets into the Hillsborough findings in 2012 and some of the preceding fan/family movements. Even works in the win against City last weekend.
