At Heysel the Juve and Liverpool supporters were sectioned right next to each other with only a chain link fence separating them. **** got crazy, LFC hooligans moved towards the Juve fans and serious violence was started by those LFC hooligans, resulting in the deaths of 33 Juventus supporters and six LFC fans. It's sad because the vast majority of fans transcend bias during these times and unite, foster good will, etc. But there are those asshats who get all the attention and ruin it for everyone. MUFC supporters talking about unfurling a banner at Anfield next weekend that says "Justice." That would be ****ing huuuuuge if they pulled it off. Some good will is rare these days, especially between those two. But being an Old Firm fan you understand visceral hatred well.

I am currently reading a book on the history of Liverpool and there is much discussion about the Catholic and Protestant Scots who played for Rangers and Celtic as well those groups who moved to Liverpool to play professionally. Very intersting stuff. Many of Liverpool's early footballers were Scots (before and after the Everton split).

It's so annoying because we have so much more talent than all these teams in CONCACAF besides Mexico that we should win on talent alone. Enough of the BS trying to look pretty style that we have been playing with. Do the style we did against Scotland, do the style we did against Mexico, do the style we did against Italy. This team has shown it can compete with the best in the world, it'd be nice if we didn't have to score in the 90th minute to beat a country with a population of 70000. If we lose, my faith in USMNT will take a huge step back.
