Absolutely. It's going to look really bad if England lose to Columbia or Sweden/Switzerland. I believe they will be favored in all of their games until the final (if they make it that far). However, playing against Columbia, Sweden/Switzerland, and Croatia are completely different than playing against Brazil, France, and full squad Belgium.

Why would it look bad for them to lose to those teams? Colombia Sweden and Switzerland have looked like strong teams throughout the tournament.

It's no slight to them, you are correct, they all did look good. However, they did field a team against Belgium with 9 of 11 starters changed from their "A" team (Belgium did too of course) because they knew the right side of the bracket was far easier than the left side.

If winning against Belgium meant an easier side of the bracket, they probably would have played to win.

Yup. Hell, isn't Switzerland top 10 in Fifa rankings? I know England, Sweden, Columbia, and Croatia are all somewhere outside of the top 10 but in the top 25.

I feel like it’s Destiny for Croatia now. They played pretty bad today, and could have lost. The first 15 mins of extra time those Danes were barraging the goal. Thought for sure they were gonna score. But the Croatians prevailed. I feel like that was their 1 bad game. It’s down and over with. Now they will get down to business and start smacking ppl around.

Side note: is anyone else feel like this Lebron news came out deliberately to take American sports coverage away from Soccer and the World Cup? I’m mean honestly who gives a shit where Lebron goes? It’s June! Now there are 4 NBA teams instead of 3. Congrats, you’ve achieved so much. Fffff off basketball is dead until these mega teams go away.

Saw most of the first half, but part of it at a really terrible angle (still never got an explanation for that). There was a lot of contact, but I didn't see anything too bad consistently. Some very bad plays but I think the complaints were about the second half.

Still, I told my buddy Mexico didn't have a leg to stand on w/r/t complaints of dirty play. I'm no expert, so maybe Lax or Roma can give more details about the KOR/MEX game
