The sale of AC Milan to a Chinese venture officially went through last week. So Milan is going to be flush with cash this coming transfer period. I believe there main issue before was their stadium debt, but I imagine they figured that out now.

In regards to Inter, they were already bought by a Chinese group, and I believe their FCF position is quite significant. They are looking at buying Mbappe, so they have the Euros.

Serie A is boring af but it'll be nice to have these guys relevant again hopefully.

Serie A is arguably the most offensively creative league in Europe. Just because JUVE has the most money and has been dominating the last 5 years, doesn't mean the product on the field through out the league isn't entertaining. I've been increasingly bored with EPL games this year. There is significant lack of creativity in that league. 90% of EPL offense is basic cross the ball in to the box, or unsuccessful attempts at trying to open the door on a packed defense inside its 18yd box. EPL teams are constantly playing this crappy offense of trying to unluck a defense packed inside its 18, and are alarmingly inefficient at it. Hell, I've been more entertained watching Bundesliga this year to be honest.

Monaco is one of the youngest squads in Ligue 1. I don't know what their intention is going forward, but this team as it is right now could be poised for a lot of success down the line if kept together. I assume some of these kids are going to be transfer targets of bigger clubs.

Dortmund just forgot how to finish for much of this year... I haven't been able to watch either game but both read like BVB is outplaying Monaco but their shots are just not lethal and Monaco shoots at a much more efficient clip. This isn't new with Dortmund this year..... when they are hot they can explode on teams but there is often no middle ground.

So Madrid, Juve and Monaco....

No thanks.

If UCL wants to spend any more time with me, be a doll and just it know I'm no longer interested:

For the first time since 2003, there are no English or German teams in the Champions League semifinals.

Forza Los Rojiblancos.

Yeah, definitely rooting for Atletico from here on in. Would love to see them win one of these after losing out to the Evil Empire across the street in two out of the last three years.

On the other hand, wouldn't hate seeing Juventus win. They are recent runners-up too.

Toby has indicated, through his agent, that he is not interested in signing a new contract at Spurs. He's contracted through '20, but we are know where this could be going.

All the more reason to go and buy and retain Wimmer.

Toby noooooooooooo.

lJjcRnH.jpg

I guess he never signed that £70,000/week deal, huh? I'm not too worried yet for a few reasons:

A) That clause in his contract is short window AND not until summer 2019. If the clause becomes an issue 2 more years of Toby is well enough.

B) As mentioned above, Inter is just...weird. Not super believable.

C) I have to imagine Spurs will be okay with pushing his wages closer to £100,000 soon. He's earned it and hopefully they'll be shedding Sissoko's super dumb £95,000/week in the summer to create more room on the wage bill.

That said....

Toby just turned 28 and Vertonghen turns 30 in a few days. Wimmer, Dier, and super young CCV are a nice core but if Inter really throws £60 million (perhaps?) at Tottenham for Toby I mean that'll be tough to turn down. If he leaves for half that I'll be sick.

Love Atleti and the way they play. Simeone is quite mad but it's sort of a mad you can live with if he's winning. Like Jim Harbaugh. There isn't anything romantic about it. They'll win games 1-0 and play disciplined. Fans care more about winning than scoring a ton of goals. At least they should.

Imagine a guy like Simeone at Arsenal. Talk about a 180 in culture change. It'd be scary stuff for the Premier League. And those players. The days of sun tans and selfies would be over.

No Real just because. No Monaco because of who their owner is. I would prefer Juventus over either of those two but not Atleti.

Took in some local USL soccer last night.

15,000 asses in seats on a Wednesday night isn't too shabby. Working on that MLS bid!

Mamadou Sakho has no future at Liverpool - Sky sources | Football News | Sky Sports

Bums me out a bit. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up. He has said he wants to stay in England because his kids are doing well there and he wants them to continue learning English.

Also, what a travesty that doping issue was last spring. Sakho and LFC should be furious. Sakho missed not only the Europa League final but also Euro 2016!

Zlatan Ibrahimovic injury revealed: Manchester United striker set for nine months out | Football | Sport | Express.co.uk

What we all knew yesterday has been confirmed. Zlatan tore his ACL and it requires surgery to repair. He's going to be out 8-9 months. His original contract was for only 1 year, so this leaves a lot of questions in regards to if he will play again for Man U. I am not a Man U fan, but I have always respect Zlatan. He's a beast of a man, and an absolute legend on the football pitch. I feel terrible for him.

Oh yeah, just as a general soccer fan you have to love Zlatan. Larger than life character who makes the sport fun to follow. What was it he said in a recent postgame interview, about getting better as he gets older, born old and will die young, like Benjamin Button? Hilarious.

I hope he is able to recover. Thirty-five is old to be doing ACL rehab.

Rashford has looked in good form for Man U lately though. They are in a better position to cope with this now than they have been all season.
