This is delicious,...

- I only rooted against P bc CR was there, now he's not... Been rooting ever since
- hate France... Really need explaining here? I hate England bc I'm Scottish, I hate France bc I'm Amercian... Gawd I love this component of soccer
- the English commentators made fools of themselves for like the 18th time here
- Wiz wins his office pool and I get dibs on buying his shit...

This entire tournament is a farce. Portugal was the third through in their group and got rewarded with the easiest path to the final. France Germany Italy Iceland Belgium are all better than this Portugal team. This tournament didn't prove anything...

I love their 'leader' jumping around on the side lines... Thought your feminine ass couldn't walk off the pitch bitch...

Gonna stick with my comment of "shocking" that France didn't win. Maybe it wouldn't have been surprising if Germany beat them, but a Ronaldo-less Portugal beating France on home soil in a final is rather shocking.

Yes. Shocked. ;)

It's still an odd comment, expecting to win is one thing... 'Shocked' still doesn't fit,... They were outplayed by Germany.

Here's your shocked face...

Scotland would have beat them by five goals, if only UEFA would ever give us a chance....

I don't even know how to react to this. Football is a crazy game. That's why we are all addicted to it.

Portugal winning is like us, at our best, winning Europe... It's not likely, but it's not crazy either... This is not shocking...

Not in a vacuum but shocking for anyone who watched the first 15 minutes of this match. France were stronger, faster, and more aggressive.

Portland NYRB is a great matchup.... Watch

Meh, two scrubs that NYCFC has already beaten. The real matchup is at 8, NYCFC v SKC ;)

Just kidding obviously as RBNY has had our number all but once. But, NYC is going for 5 wins in a row and a win increases their lead in the east by 4 points.

I was unaware NYC didn't have a keeper

3 clean sheets in a row was a product of good defense and a great attack. Saunders is absolute shit and has been all year.

Either way, with how open this game, I am expecting a couple more goals this game.

Couldn't agree with Alexi more there,... 'Jurgen, shit, or go coach the pot, and let us find someone else(better)... '

The Euros should be 16 teams.

Germany and France were the two best teams.

Yes.

What a weird tournament.

This Portugal team couldn't hold a candle to the Golden Generation runner-up team in 2004. And yet this is the team that everyone will remember.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them. Big win without their big gun CR7--who didn't really have a great tournament, a few big moments aside, imo. I don't know how much he really influenced the play. I mean, watching the Wales/Portugal game, there was quite a contrast with Gareth Bale, who was really going for it. I agreed with Joe Ledley's comments:

Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo did very little against Wales - Joe Ledley - ESPN FC

Wales reached the last four in France but their tournament came to an end with a 2-0 defeat to Portugal as Ronaldo broke the deadlock with a powerful header in the 50th minute before Nani slid in to divert his shot past Wayne Hennessey three minutes later.

Ledley said Ronaldo otherwise had little influence on the match, particularly in comparison to his Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale.

"He's one of those players who frustrates you," the Crystal Palace midfielder told reporters. "He's never in the game compared to Gareth. He's always in the game, always on the ball, always wanting it, always dribbling and always trying to do something.

And yet I think Ronaldo is going to get a lot of credit for being the big star who captained this squad to the trophy, which credit he may or may not deserve.

Hopefully I'm wrong and the history books will get it right.

It might be that I am being totally unfair to Ronaldo:

Euro 2016 Cristiano Ronaldo gave 'unbelievable' speech to 'in-shock' Portugal - Soares - ESPN FC
