lol at Sterling bringing in more money than Reus... the gawds must be crazy.

IF Reus moves to Liverpool for that I'll be freaking pissed. I'll never get over picturing what this current BVB team would be if they had held onto Gotze and Lewando....

Yeah, it seems crazy, right? I guess the only thing you can say in defense of it is that Sterling is only 20 and the sky's the limit for him, in terms of his potential. Might seem like a bargain in a few years.

I haven't kept up with Liverpool that much since Gerrard gave that ball away to Chelsea over a year ago... who is supposed to provide the offense for them now, assuming they miss on a big striker...

If Sterling was any other nationality but English, he would have been at least 10-15 million less. There is a premium on English talent as the Football Association is leaning towards (if they haven't already) but a requirement on the number of homegrown players. Sterling would fall under that category even though he was born in Jamaica. I think Sterling can be a really good player for Manchester City, but he needs to get his head on straight. The city of Manchester has two electrifying wingers in Memphis Depay and Sterling.

I am glad he is gone. So tired of th ediva strikers. Can't believe ManCity are going to pay him $200K a week LMAO. Liverpool paid $500k for him and we sold him for $50 mil. Bye felicia!

Grossly overpaid and grossly overpaid transfer fee. It's such mixed feelings because I think he will be good, but having to deal with City Football Group for two of my teams (MCFC and NYCFC) is painful at times.

It's just way too much money for that kid right now. But you put your finger on a huge part of it. Having the next big thing in English football has some serious benefits. In hindsight it may turn out to be a decent deal.

Interesting lineup.

Also. Good for Nick! He seems like the guy you always want to be around.

The USA has not looked good in all three games, but my god the referees have been horrendous as well.

Was Besler left off the team because of the whole fitness debate with Klinsmann? He was utterly dominant in the World Cup and received a ton of international interest before resigning for decent $$ with KC (which Klinsmann also wasn't happy about).

We will face 3 B/C in the next round so its looking like El Salvador or Guatemala at this point barring anything crazy like Mexico losing by more than 8 goals.

Some roster changes will be made today. I will be surprised if Besler isn't called in for Alvarado. Not sure of any other changes but there will be a couple.

I only saw about 30 minutes of the game, but it looked like Panama had more and better scoring chances. We've got to get that back line together. And no Brooks in the next game, right?

idk who you roll with in the knockouts if not Brooks... my best guess is it's Omar and Brooks the rest of the way...
