This guy showed up at a Fripp Island Course recently. LOL. Be careful if you play golf in SC.

I was playing Turtle Point about 8 years ago and I was standing behind one of my buddies teeing off ( at the back of the box) and I heard a hiss come from behind me. A gator was coming up out the water up the back slope of the tee box. Haha Scared the shit out of me. It was tiny though, just a few years old.

Awesome stuff. Would love to see that tournament!

Well, I forgot to charge my camera, so no pics.

I "camped out" under a TV tower covering the 16th green, the 17th tee and perhaps the 17th green.

I had a good line of sight but wished I'd had some binocs.

The parade of luscious young ladies walking past me required nothing more than my glasses for viewing.

The beer was expensive as hell, as was the hot dog ... which was terrible.

But I did get to see shots, good and bad, hit to the famous 17th green.

Good stuff! Always sad to hear about the beer prices at these things...

So I did my club fitting Saturday. AP2s are not it for me (I figured as much). My pro was awesome. He knows his stuff, and wasn't going to sell me something just because I wanted it. Going to get the Wilson Forged C300s 4-GW in extra stiff with +.25 for the shaft as well. Very surprised, and pleased, with these Wilsons.

Glad you found something you hit well and love. Congrats!

What did you think of the AP3? Or did you not get to try those?

I hit 10 clubs when I was there. Immediately brought that down to 6, and so forth. One thing he did, he told me not to look at the clubs. Just hit them and tell him how it felt. Therefore I never* knew what club/brand I was hitting. The only club through the testing process he showed me was the AP2, when I immediately said no to the club, just to get it out of the way because I wanted to hit it.

My buddy came along with me (he wanted to see what a fitting is like... he'll be doing it next year now haha), so he saw all the clubs/brands I hit. He said I hit the AP3, it passed my initial cut, but not the 2nd. I can't say how well I thought of them then. The top 3 clubs to me were those Wilson's the fit me the best, a Mizuno and Callaway Rogues. The Wilson Forged C300s were just the best though. Tight dispersion and they were consistently within 4 yards distance wise too.

*I knew I was hitting 2 of the clubs because of the look. Cobra King Forged are easy to identify since they have a black finish, and the M3s came with a stock TaylorMade grip.

Good stuff. I would've gone a similar route had it not been for my bro-in-law's discount with Titleist. My entire fitting was Titleist-specific.

I was really glad I did it, since I wasn't really sure what I would like.

I can't fault you on that, my boss did the same thing with Titleist since his brother is a golf coach and got him a huge discount on his AP2s.

I love the Wilson's, they've been making great clubs the last couple of years. All of the golf internet sites rave about them. enjoy!

Yeah, they've really stepped up their game, which is good to see. Glad they aren't being regulated to Walmart box of clubs crap...

Unfortunately, that is the reaction you're going to get when a lot of people see your clubs until you go out and hustle them.

This is true. When I told two of my buddies that I was getting Wilson clubs they both gave the same reaction... WILSON?!?! They still make clubs?!

I’ve got an old 8802 putter in my man cave.
I love to look at it, but I need the larger Del Mar to hit anything consistently.

A buddy of mine was back in South Bend visiting some friends from his school days this past weekend. I made the trek down to visit him and his college pals, and we ended up golfing Warren Saturday afternoon. It was my first time, beautiful course and reasonably priced for 18 holes for the quality of golf. Loved the views on campus on a couple of the holes, and it was a good balance of difficult but playable for an amateur like me. Shot a 95, so I was very happy with that my first time out there. Stayed out of the Fescue most of the time and only found a few bunkers throughout my round.

I will definitely be back. Might even make a point to do a weekend there in the off-season and do several rounds.

Warren is a beautiful course, especially in the fall. That rough is no joke.

Will this even be close? Sucks that this is only for PPV.

100% paying any amount to watch this. TW is the reason I love golf. This is, perhaps, a once in a lifetime opp to see him un-cut, 1-on-1 against one of his biggest (if not the biggest) rival in the sport. Neither are in their prime, and that's the shame in all this, but it will undoubtedly be entertaining and enjoyable. Can't wait.

No doubt they'll bring the best out in each other for this, though. I think it'll be great golf.

It won't quite be the same as watching these two go toe-to-toe on a Sunday for a major, but it'll bring back some good memories for sure.

I'm stoked it's on PPV, and I am definitely buying it. I was hoping it would be on PPV, because then they could talk shit to each other without worrying about FCC violations.

Tiger wins the tour championship for his first PGA Tour win in 1,876 days. Great to see him back on top. Puts him two behind Snead for all time wins at 80 and he is 5 years younger than Snead when he won #82. Would have really been good had Justin Rose not birdied the last hole and Tiger would have also won the FedEx Cup. Hopefully it carries into the Ryder Cup and 2019.

I don't understand how the US can consistently get so thoroughly thrashed in Ryder Cup away-appearances. I guess the lesson for this year is that driving accuracy counts, but it's almost uncanny how the European team can over-perform during this event.

Our players just don't care. They get up for it. It's not important. Majors are important.
