Supposedly, much worse than Ray Rice. And it's going to be released soon. But there's mystery surrounding it and for all we know there's a last minute cover-up underway. Basically, the premise being put out there is that the party in possession of the tape is selling it to the highest bidder. So Dez's camp could easily pay for possession and destroy it.

If there really is a video and there is an attempt at a cover-up, it would be the end of Roger Goodell.

I think the understanding -- per one of the media sources contacted to bid on the tape -- is that the cover-up would be from Bryant's camp who would buy the video and destroy it.

Allegedly, still frames have been distributed everywhere as proof of what the footage shows and per "sources" the video is purported to be MUCH worse than Ray Rice and occurred in a Walmart.

Allegedly old video from when Dez rolled with a "rough crowd"... and it's one of that crowd that shot the video and is trying to cash in.

This has been floating around for about a week. I'm not sure how old the video is, but I doubt it's within the past few years. I don't want to even think about the fallout from this.

I just don't buy this part. They're telling me a superstar athlete violently assaulted a woman in a very public place and its stayed completely out of the news this long? I call BS on the Walmart part of the rumors, which makes me question the rest of the rumors as well.

In this day and age, I doubt his camp can truly destroy the tape. I first heard about the story yesterday on The Doug Gottlieb Show (yeah, yeah..hold the snickers.) and he mentioned what Mike Florio said.

I think it was irresponsible of Florio to say what he had said without being able to say the whole piece and I would venture to guess he jumped out of it first so that he could claim '1st'.

OR (Put your tin foil hat on)

This is a manufactured story to create buzz and to keep the NFL in the forefront of media stories. (Not that the NFL needs it but, I've heard crazier.)

Something seems amiss...but I guess, where there's smoke...

For those that missed this:
“It’s one of the best-kept secrets in the media,” Florio told hosts Shan Shariff and R.J. Choppy. “A story that all of the major insiders know about, known about it for months, involving a video tape. And the Cowboys are aware of it. Because of that and possible other reasons the Cowboys have been very reluctant to commit major money to him. I don't know that the video does exist – it relates to off-field concerns – that’s just the chatter. That there's video, and the Cowboys are afraid it will come out and have a Ray Rice-like type of an impact.”

And then Bryant out-and-out basically acknowledged the incident last night saying:
Just quit with the b.s. …It’s clear as day what's going on… I might need to do a exclusive interview about my life these past 5 years since the world is destined to know… I use to let people take advantage of my life now that I’m no longer allowing that to happen it seems to be a problem… I’m not ashamed of none of my past incidents because that’s what made me who I am today

Those quotes are from the article I linked above.

Yeah, sounds like this happened quite awhile back, can't say how far back. If it has been a long period of time, maybe he gets a slap on the wrist and says "I'm a different person now," blah blah blah.

Cowherd was talking about a story about Dez Bryant, the other day, that would explain why no one in the media is clamoring about the Cowboys' apparent lack of interest in signing him to a long term deal. He was basically telling listeners to stop with the criticism of Cowboys management, in this case. He indicated that there is a HUGE story concerning Bryant out there, and that once it broke, people would completely understand management's position.

Its all they have become..well, not all of them but a great deal of them. I think Florio runs the PFT Football twitter account and if its the one I'm thinking about, its come under fire before for comments made.

Honestly? I just ignore them all. I'm old enough and experienced enough to form my own opinion.

dafuq?

So let me get this straight, some dude runs with a crowd that allegedly beats someone in a Wal-Mart, thinks it's a good idea to basically profit and or blackmail a person from said crowd? Either Dez really pissed someone off or some dude is going to wind up dead in the hills of El Paso.

IIRC he got in trouble in his first or second year for horsing around in a shopping mall. So it's not out of the relm of possibilities for him to be doing something stupid in a public place.

I was wondering if this may have been something that happened in college, but based on the NBC article this happened back in 2011 it looks like, so 2 years after he was drafted. Yeah, if it was worse than Ray Rice, Bryant is going to be in some heat if that video comes out.

This guy is on the local show quite a bit as a guest. Usually pretty accurate with what he says.
