Getting good polls is not "buying your way in" to anything. Come on, you all sound like Elizabeth Warren right now.

He's literally buying his way in. $400 million without doing the rounds in the early states and just taking advantage of a d-list talent pool and a party that has lost its mind.

Also, he's going back to all the people he has bankrolled with his gun-ban lobby and his own checkbook to cough up endorsements. If you disagree or are a young minority, you should be thrown against a wall and frisked down.

He bought the polls via all that cash in advertising instead of the traditional campaigning and debates. The "flexibility" of the qualification "rules" has been eye opening.

I honestly don't care though. Makes for more entertainment.

Hi Liz!

You think it's his dazzling personality and great ideas pushing those polls or his spending?

What happens to his polling numbers immediately after tomorrow night will tell us a lot about his chances. I think he has the charisma of a dried turd, a minefield for a history, and his ideas are as fresh a day old doughnut. I'm thinking he will top out during Super Tuesday, sooner if Sanders and Warren get the knives out.

I'm with you.

Spending sure helps but if anything, it's an indictment about how many people hated the options that have been available for the last year or so.

Exactly. Like if you gave Jeb Bush the same amount of ad spend last election cycle he still wouldn't have gone anywhere. Same thing with with an Eric Swalwell this year. You could give that guy an unlimited bankroll and he wouldn't do shit.

Bloomberg is gaining momentum because his actual message appeals to people who don't love communism or the field of ineffectual candidates.

In reality, it's because of his bankroll and the current fields lack of appeal. I'm guessing most of the dirty laundry on Bloomberg is coming from Bernie's campaign if you were to dig deep enough. Bernie has been the most outspoken about Bloomberg and is worried about him.

Warren just grabbed ahold of Bernies coattails when talking about buying an election.

Yeah, my comment was mostly directed toward the DNC which is why they were listed. They literally changed the rules specifically for Bloomberg so he could be included, which pissed off a lot of the established candidates. DNC shows they're not above circumventing/changing the rules again to give a candidate a helping hand just like 2016.

Yeah, they changed it because Bloomberg is actually self-funding his campaign and the donor requirement was very short-sighted. So of course the DNC, in their shear incompetence, put in rules that would've kept the #2 polling candidate off the debate stage. What is ironic is that it would've arguably been better for Bloomberg to never have to debate, and I'm pretty sure it was the other candidates that actually pushed for this because they are getting crushed by his media campaigns and can't beat him at that.

The masses are dying for a ruthless capitalist with liberal social views. Someone willing to get in bed with both wall street and silicon valley to impose corporate values onto the masses with next level policing if needed. A man we can trust would never abuse the power of the US military, nsa, fbi, Cia but is bold enough to continue pursuing neocon America first foreign policy of never ending war in the ME.

My man Mike.

It would be one thing if they changed the rules post election, but making the change in the middle of election season just screams shady. Bloomberg has certainly been building a lot of steam very recently.

I just find it ironic that the "we hate billionaires" narrative clearly doesn't apply to Bloomberg based on current polls.

They did set a precedent four years ago. They're giving Bloomberg the special treatment, because they know none of the other candidates can beat Trump.

"George Zimmerman wants a day in court against two of the leading Democratic presidential contenders, accusing them of defamation.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Florida, the man who killed Trayvon Martin in self-defense in 2012 accused Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Elizabeth Warren of “maliciously defam[ing]” Mr. Zimmerman, using the killing “as a pretext to demagogue and falsely brand Zimmerman as a white supremacist and racist to their millions of Twitter followers.”

Mr. Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges on traditional self-defense grounds, because Martin attacked him and beat his head against the ground, supposedly for profiling the black teen while on a neighborhood-watch shift."

Losing elections to an allegedly racist and authoritarian billionaire with a history of sexual misconduct? Just find your own. That both Trump and Bloomberg were recently members of the opposing party just shows you what really matters to the people pulling the strings.

Was GoIrish41 also named in the lawsuit?

Back in the Trayvon thread Go41 harped on Zimmerman's white racism even after it came to light that like Obama, Zimmerman had mixed ancestors. Go ranted about the trial, the acquittal, and the DOJ, Obama's DOJ, finding insufficient evidence to warrant a federal hate crime investigation.

We'd all end up with alcohol poisoning or die suffocating on our puke...

I'll crack open a couple beers and have a sip every time they say crisis, or talk about anything having to do with racism.

Won't be tuning in for another 5 minutes. Does Bloomberg have a box? lol

No box. But he’s a punching bag. This is my first debate night. I don’t know how long I’m going to make it, but for a second there, I actually liked Elizabeth Warren

I'm tuned in now. Lil' Mike hasn't said anything yet.

So far, all of them look pretty bad IMO. Knives out lol..

The only thing I like thus far is Bernie driving home that we pay 2X per capita more on health than any country, and the profits of insurance and drug companies.

If that's what they want then a Trump v. Bloomberg is very interesting.

I have no strong opinion on Bloomberg. Hes basically a reflection of Trump in a mirror.

Bloomberg is looking so bad. I said he'd top out on Super Tuesday (poll numbers), but now I think he tops out sooner.

Biden comes off as a John Wayne wannabe.

As far as demeanor is concerned, Mayor Pete and Amy are the only ones I can stomach.

Love the fights tonight lol

Warren & Biden Pouncing on Bloomberg

Warren & Biden Pouncing on Bloomberg

over sealed lawsuits with some female employees. Warren got in a flurry of blows and the moderator allowed her to keep punching. Bloomberg looked flustered. Warren wants Bloomberg to release those women from mutually agreed confidentially sealed lawsuit documents.

Joe jumped in demanding Bloomberg release them tonight.

Moderators having little control over the "debaters". More like a free for all. Several times Warren and outshouted the others and taken control. Seems whoever shouts loudest and longest gets to take over the mike.
