I don't know if Biden knows who will pick or not, but saying he's going with a female for VP is a way to secure the female vote and keep Bernie from gaining any momentum as they round turn four and head for home.

Sounds like a SNL skit waiting to happen.

Biden: “I’ll definitely name a woman as my VP”

Sanders: “I’ll definitely name a woman of color as my VP”

Biden: “I’ll name a lesbian woman of color as my VP”

Sanders: “I’ll name a transgendered woman of color as my VP”

Biden: “I’ll see your transgendered woman of color and raise you to a quadriplegic, transgendered, woman of color as my VP”

Sanders: (waiting for staffer to rush out an even more oppressed example)

And people think there’s a dime’s worth of difference between the two parties. One just happens to get away w/ everything b/c they have the majority of the MSM looking out for them.

Only way Joe Biden loses is if seniors stay home from voting because of the Coronavirus. It's really that simple. We'll see what happens, but voter suppression in the remaining primaries is a very real risk.

AOC said voter suppression is why Biden won all these states. States are suppressing the youth vote!

Bernie's support is quite fake.

No more fake than Trump's. The real difference is that the DNC was much more effective in rallying behind a single figure and knee-capping a candidate that it perceives as a threat to its donor base than the GOP was in 2016.

It's Reformists v. Centrists now. A lot of Bernie supports will vote for Trump in the general over Biden.

What's interesting is that Klobuchar had a slip-of-tongue a few days ago about being on the ticket. There are a lot of rumors about her and Harris being the two front runners for VP.

She would be my pick for Biden if I were to guess even though Harris would help with the black vote.

Factbox: Biden vows to pick woman for a running mate. Here are some potential names
Ginger Gibson

(Reuters) - During Sunday night’s debate, former Vice President Joe Biden vowed to select a woman as his running mate if he becomes the Democratic nominee for president.

Biden, who is vying with U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders for the nomination, has said there is a deep bench of women he can choose from, including several who made their own strong runs for the nomination, as well as governors and Congress members.

While women have appeared as a presidential or vice presidential nominee on major party tickets before, no woman has ever served as vice president.

Some women who are likely to be considered:

FORMER RIVALS
U.S. Senator Kamala Harris

Since being elected California attorney general in 2010, Harris, 55, has been a rising star in the Democratic Party. Since the senator from California ended her presidential bid in December, she has been at the center of vice presidential speculation.

Harris held out until after primary voting in her state, where Sanders won, before endorsing Biden. But she campaigned for him on the eve of a crucial Michigan primary last week, which Biden won.

Since her home state is a reliable Democratic stronghold, she would not bring to the ticket a potentially decisive battleground state - hotly contested because voters can swing either to Republican or Democrats. But as the daughter of Jamaican and Indian immigrants, she could help rally black voters, a crucial Democratic voting bloc.

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar

The 59-year-old senator from Minnesota’s questioning of Brett Kavanaugh during his Supreme Court confirmation hearing boosted her national profile - and she defied expectations in the Democratic primary.

Klobuchar endorsed Biden as she exited the race after on the eve of March 3rd’s pivotal Super Tuesday contests, helping him win her home state. Picking her as a running mate would be viewed as a play to help win critical Northern states, including Minnesota, where Democrat Hillary Clinton won by only 1 percentage point in 2016 and which Republican President Donald Trump is hoping to flip this year.

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren

An academic who wrote books on bankruptcy law, Warren, 70, arrived on the political scene in 2008 when she was tapped to help oversee big bank bailouts and then help Democratic President Barack Obama establish the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Her policy proposals are much more progressive than Biden’s. Choosing the senator from Massachusetts as a running mate could be a powerful sign that Biden wants to embrace the party’s left wing.

STATEHOUSE STARS
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer

Whitmer, 48, has been a rising Democratic Party star since winning a tight race in Michigan in 2018. Party leadership tapped her to deliver the response to Trump’s State of the Union address last year.

She has already tamped down speculation she could be the nominee. On Monday, she told MSNBC she is happy to help vet possible Biden running mates, saying, “It’s not going to be me, but I am going to have a hand in helping make sure that he has the rounded-out ticket that can win.”

Trump shocked American politics by winning Michigan in 2016, and picking Whitmer would be seen as a move to help flip the state back into the Democratic column.

Former Georgia Minority Leader Stacey Abrams

In her failed bid to become Georgia’s governor in 2018, Abrams, 46, gained a national profile. Some Democrats called on the African-American woman from the Deep South to make a run for president in 2020.

Instead, Abrams has focused her attention on building a group working to end voter suppression and helping people register to vote. While she has minimal executive government experience, Abrams would likely bring enthusiasm to a ticket with Biden, especially among African Americans.

CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS
U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth

A veteran of Asian descent, the 52-year-old from Illinois lost both her legs in the Iraq War before being elected to the Senate.

Duckworth has notched several firsts, including being one of the first women to fly helicopter combat missions, the first woman to become a wartime double amputee, the first woman double amputee elected to the Senate and the first senator to give birth while in office.

Duckworth would be the first Asian American to be nominated by a major party to be a vice presidential running mate.

U.S. Representative Val Demings

The African-American congresswoman from Florida’s national profile rose earlier this year when she was tapped as one of the managers, effectively prosecutors, in the House impeachment proceedings against Trump.

Demings, 63, was first elected to office in 2016. Before going to Washington, she was a police officer.

She hails from a state that could be critical in 2020. But her law enforcement background may not please some who are critical of Biden’s track record on criminal justice.

Some crazy shit going on today with the Coronavirus. Ohio Governor closed all polling places, while a judge simultaneously would not let them delay the voting until June... so no one knows what is going on, and it does not sound like the Ohio primary results will be valid. Biden was +20 in that state.

Only Arizona, Illinois, and Florida will vote tomorrow. Biden is +40 in Florida, but the Coronavirus will suppress old person voter turnout. Similarly, Biden is +20 in both Illinois and Arizona.

Georiga, Kentucky, and Louisiana have also announced postponement of their primaries. They weren't set to vote until the coming weeks.

Watch the GOP outflank the DNC on the left with direct cash payments to help people through the quarantine, thereby ensuring that Trump beats Biden in the general.

Victory is in the upper-left quadrant:

Seems like it'll be easier for the GOP to move there than the DNC.

I'd be shocked if the good folks who control the GOP let that happen before they temporarily cut the payroll tax.

Payroll tax holiday isn't going to help people not getting a paycheck. Trump giving out Yang Bucks would be brilliant lol... The Coronavirus Freedome Dividend.

At a glance: Democratic presidential primary results and state delegate counts
Ginger Gibson

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former Vice President Joe Biden extended his lead in the delegate race for the Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday, sweeping the day’s contests with wins in Arizona, Florida and Illinois as the country grappled with the coronavirus.

A poll deputy uses her cellphone as she wears gloves as a preventive measure against the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) during the Democratic presidential primary election in Miami, Florida, U.S. March 17, 2020. REUTERS/Maria Alejandra Cardona
There were 441 delegates at stake in the three states. A string of earlier victories had put Biden ahead of U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders in the race to amass the minimum 1,991 delegates needed to secure the nomination and challenge Republican President Donald Trump in the Nov. 3 election.

Ohio had also been scheduled to vote on Tuesday, but Governor Mike DeWine postponed his state’s primary until June 2 because of the growing coronavirus crisis.

Here is a quick look at Tuesday’s primaries:

FLORIDA
Delegate Count: 219

Biden wins and will secure at least 81 delegates. Sanders will win at least 24 delegates.

With most precincts reporting, Biden was on pace to win every county in the state. Sanders’ praise of literacy programs in Cuba under the nation’s Communist former leader, Fidel Castro, prompted widespread criticism of the senator in Florida, a state with a sizable Cuban-American population.

ILLINOIS
Delegate count: 155

Biden wins Illinois, picking up at least 46 delegates to Sanders’ 25.

Underscoring his commanding wins, with most of the state’s votes counted, Biden led Sanders by more than 20 percentage points. In 2016, Sanders lost the Illinois primary to Hillary Clinton, the party’s eventual nominee, by just 2 percentage points.

ARIZONA
Delegate count: 67

Biden is projected to win Arizona, securing at least six delegates, while Sanders had locked down three.

In previous contests, Sanders had done well in Western states, victories his supporters attribute to large support from Latinos. But that was not enough to give him a win in Arizona, where Biden was on pace to best Sanders by double digits.

It's mathematically impossible, short of Biden dying. He would need to win 65%+ of delegates in the remaining states.

Right now, Bernie actually has worse odds in Vegas of getting the nomination than multiple people not in the race.

People will remember that Bernie cared more about his ego and righteous indignation than public health... ironically, one of the issues he tries to champion.

Yeah totally, it's not like Trump has literally four years of being incapable of putting coherent thoughts together.

It's not comparable. That's apples to Brazilian nuts.

People may not like Trump or his policies, and there are far more articulate Presidents (Obama was one), but Trump's highly intelligent. Joe is on another planet.

Trump gives ~30-60 minute speeches weekly. Joe would be crucified if he had to go ~10 minutes once.

Trump is no Obama as an orator. Watching Trump give the COVID-19 updates, he doesn't do real good at the podium. He has a hard time reading his notes and coming back to them for talking points as he repeats some things, but he can stay more focused. Biden seems to lose his train of thought mid sentence which is a sign of some mental health issue(s) and is going to hurt him. With more time to prepare for a debate, I think Trump will be better at the podium. Joe just won't be able to remember and you can't prepare for that.

I think it's style more than anything. Trump has always been an ad-lib'er and a repeater, and thinks he's "performing" at all times. So not a polished snake oil salesman that soothes your mind like Obama, but still highly intelligent, quick witted, and very talented in different ways.

Joe on the other hand looks confused, is a non-stop gaffe machine, and simply can't convey his thoughts or transition from topic to topic. I feel bad laughing at all the stuff because it's actually really sad. But it's also really scary to think he could making decisions.... Not sure how anyone can listen to him and be confident that his mental state is anywhere close to being up for the task. And that's not even taking into account further decline.

Anyway, a debate between the two would be a train wreck, or akin to driving by an accident on the highway.
