A first time play caller going against a successful DC who is more than twice his age & has even more than twice the in-game experience is quite maiden voyage.

What Tom lacks in age he'll make up for with superior foot-speed.

He was outrunning that cop when the taxi took him out.

Pete Sampson predicted a 30-27 win for Iowa State. Said we've looked sluggish, disengaged, and BK has appeared frustrated with the team

Yeah. His logic boiled down to: “ND matches up well on defense and should be able to make things work on offense but probably won’t show up mentally.” Which is both oddly negative for him and would, frankly, be surprising the way this team showed up through the second half of the season.

Yeah, I'm not optimistic about the game at all. I said when it was announced that I thought it was a nightmare. Not only is Iowa State *very good* with a style of defense that can slow down Notre Dame and a QB good enough to score points on ND's defense, but they will be UP for the game.

I promise you ND is not *up* for the Camping World Bowl against a 7-5 Big 12 team. Just the reality of the situation, people aren't robots. I would feel much better if ND was playing Texas.

My best case scenario for tomorrow is ND winning something like 31-21. Most likely, I think it comes down to the final possession.

Anyone wanna wager for a delay of game penalty on the first ND offensive snap?

I more skeptical than I have been for most games this year. I try to not get wrapped up in too much of the media leading up to games like this but I have not been impressed with the things I’ve read/listened too so far. Seems like the team took full advantage of their leisure time/late nights and its impacted the limited practice time they have. BK better know what he’s doing.

There’s zero doubt in my mind that ND will commit a false start in the first drive...maybe the first play.

I’ve chalked this game up as a loss as soon as it was announced. The reports I’ve read leading up to the game have me doubling down on that as the players seem to be content w/ a 10-win season. I read Sampson’s article and Kmet was trying to debunk that from a players’ perspective but it came across as player-speak. The worst part is what it sets up moving into the offseason if Book ends up being to blame. It will be QB Controversy 2.0.

There is a 0% chance Ian Book is benched next year.

I just don't understand how teams don't 'get up' for games. Yes, I understand the players aren't robots argument. But you spend 365 days a year living and breathing football, with only 13 chances to buckle up and prove yourself. This is their last game for 9 months. Just blows my mind that you wouldn't be able to get up for something like this.

I think it's less about being "up" for a game than it is being focused all week with film prep, gameplan prep, taking care of your body, etc. I'm sure that the guys will be excited to play but have they spent the time preparing to play, that they should have. That's my take.

I know this is a little different but when I played baseball in college and we went to these little invitationals there was a difference playing in the championship game compared to playing in the 3rd place game.

I think a big big difference is the "meaningless" bowl games guys are more playing for themselves than the team and sometimes execution isnt there.

I think Lucci is 100% spot on.

Sounds like we need a hard-nosed coach to yell at the boys and whip 'em into shape... Where's Long at?

No doubt.. I don't think that is going to happen. The Irish need this going into 2020 - that is obvious after a 10-2 season going to Camping Bowl. I still am bitter about this bowl selection but, it is what it is...

And I'm not stating Iowa State is a push-over. They are a good team. With all due respect to them, the Irish has much more talent. Have to execute and it should be Irish by 14-17 in the end.

THANK YOU DIZZY!! Exactly how I feel. Due respect to Iowa and their fans. The Irish are one hell of a team and on a mission to expose the biases of rankings.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

That’s where I’m at as well. To be clear, I have no problem w/ them staying out late the first night or whatever. Most teams do this to allow their kids some actual fun & downtime. Sounds like the practices have been shit all week though...that has more to do w/ focus IMO.

You’d think if they truly want Rees as their OC, they’d be dialed in and focused to make the decision a no-brainer. If they shit the bed, they just made Rees’ prospects a lot dimmer. Can you imagine if the offense lays an egg and BK still goes w/ Rees as OC? Yikes.

If ND were to win this game and end up 11-2...where might ND be ranked at the end of it all? I'm thinking this would be the lowest ranked 11 win ND team in history? I just don't see ND moving much in the final rankings with a win. I think we show up and win a close one.

Tim Prister said that there is a "mountain of evidence" about an unfocused Notre Dame team. I guess we'll know for sure what we've got in 18 hours.

I heard it was a lot of partying. It’s time to take Iowa St and the points.

They went out Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Curfew was 11:30 and the latest shuttle arrived at 11. I'd say there wasn't any alcohol involved. This Is all sourced through BK and his press conference.

Prister Is doing his job and creating a clickstream. My opinion anyway.
