My Facebook feed (lots of Cub fans) has been a hilarious rollercoaster. 10 minutes ago they were doing the death march, now they are back to chest thumping.
God bless you brother.
And the lord surely blessed you with Cubs fans as friends.
We are always ready to jump from the cliff.
Good thing this young team believes.
They really do believe, and some little birdie must have told them in the 9th facing Cueto in an elimination game is a bad idea. May not seem like it now, but that flurry might have propelled them to a title.
This was my thought exactly. Beating the Giants who were 10-0 in elimination games and the modern dynasty in San Fran in the manner they did was HUGE! I am not saying they will but I could easily see them sweeping or winning a 4-1 series over either the Dodgers or Nationals. I think this win took off loads of pressure and was a huge confidence booster
A year and a half ago, I was suggesting that Cubs dump Baez and get whatever they can for him. I would've never guessed that he would have the kind of series that he just had against the Giants.
Javy is the man.
Nope.we'll have to earn our stripes.
Nothing comes easy here on out.
Nats have a Cub killer in Murphy.
Let us not forget the Mets sweeping us last year.
Their biggest hurdle is out of the way (Best of 7 with their deep rotation is an even bigger advantage now). It isn't the Giants were the best team they will face the rest of the way, it's the Giants had the best chance of beating them of anyone based on the series being best of 5.
*I honestly don't know if they would have beat Cueto limping into a Game 5, but that doesn't matter now. They took care of business.
Man... wish I were at Wrigley tonight.
I live in Wrigley and for years I've always had mix emotions about the Cubs winning it all. I always said that the celebration would be ridiculous. After experiencing the neighborhood go absolutely bonkers in '13 and '15 when the Hawks won the Stanley Cup... I thought "wow, if wrigley gets this reckless over a hockey team who has already won in the last five years...I don't wanna see how they would be if the team that actually plays here and hasn't won in over a century wins a championship." Hopefully they do it but there's a lot of police supervision in and around my neighborhood.![]()
