You're assuming that the models are static, they're not. As Kelly points out, below, the numbers are adjusting in real time. Have you not noticed that the IMHE model posts the update date(s)? It's moving downward because of our restrictions. Also, I'm pretty sure it's not a one-size-fits-all model. I've watched the curves and projections for each state change over time. States like Wyoming had a way less aggressive curve than States like New York and Washington.
This, but I think you mean "understate" instead of "overstate." It would be an understatement to say that without social distancing we would see many more deaths. It would be an overstatement to say that the lead up to this was pure theatre.
Come on, my man. The reason why the top states for cases and fatalities are blue is due to the number of persons in those states and the population density because of those numbers. People want to live in those states because they have the most opportunity, the most development, and the most care.
Would you rather live in California, even with all its downside, or some shit hole like North Dakota? And regarding poverty, states like Alabama and Mississippi lead the nation in those figures. They ain't blue, bro.
