Read options, again we’re so disappointing. That was the most fun offense to run in the last game,… it sucked hard in this one for all the reasons mentioned prior.i finally got a 92 speed qb and was stoked thinking ‘finally i can run the read!!’ No I cannot.

I have not had this experience, have you ventured into the ones not titled Read Option? Like Power, QB wrap, Bash etc? Also Read RPOs are unreal how good as well as RPO QB draws.

So this thread obviously struck a nerve today and I’ve been posting rather than some legit constructive things I need to get done on my day off… lol. Thinking on it all my posts can be summed up with: If you try to play this game as a legit sports sim like the show, you lose. Period. If you learn how to win you never lose but learning how to win means, run these exact five plays over and over bc they are broken or scripted to not be defended correctly by the AI. This goes for both sides of the ball. And that’s it. That’s every game. At a certain point it’s just not fun anymore. Then other modes like RTG are just mind numbing frustrating and redundant. I hope that changes in future editions but I’m a cynic in all things raisers to ND football. Not just the actual team (we’re going 0-2 to start the season btw,… )

Against Heisman?? Keeping the ball is almost always a net loss,… it’s just a handoff if you want it to ever work

Yeah I would say any of them work fine on Heisman for me. The Read RPOs specifically are my fallback when nothing else works versus CPU.

The game has been kept fresh with my online dynasty with buddies from college. Each of us got a random 80 overall 3 star team that we put into the PAC-12. I'm Rutgers, playing as head coach Tony Gabagool. A bit frustrating when we only advance like once every 6 days or so, we probably only have one season left until the new game. Also the servers are pretty trash. Really frustrating how often I have play-ruining lag even with 500+mbps connection

Power I baby,… seriously. That and the pistol.

Nah I’ve tried everything with the read option. At least that’s in my playbook. It feels very scripted. Give it and it’s a few yard gain but nothing more. Keep, even if it’s the correct read and the edge adjusts or the DT crashes through and you’re stopped for a loss. I gave up on it

Yeah I’ve been on custom playbook, probably my favorite part of the game building it tbh. I’ll test out a couple plays in practice mode and if they seem broken consistently I just move on. TE screens for example in theory I would love but never seem to work out. A lot of the read stuff I will run are out of Veer and Shoot playbooks. The wide spreads of them help.

Screens are another great example of ‘wtf is the cpu doing!?’ That’s one of the best plays the cpu has on Heisman, the hb screen eats you alive. So of course they usually run it once a game on a third and 20 when they are already down four touchdowns.

My point with the power I too. I love that formation in this game. It works but is less ‘scripted’ in that it doesn’t work the same all the time or even at all. However if you drive down the field with it the cpu will finally adjust on the goal to go scenario and it’s stuffed. Just another example of the AI not working unless it’s a certain formation or situation.

They need to study the show. If you struggle with the curve the CPU will find that and exploit it and you better git good. There is no example of that here.

Shoot me your ideal read plays and I’ll try it. Like I said I tried the base ones and nothing

Now to give it a bit of love,… you can effectively play safety and CB in this game in a way unlike in the past,… when on defense I’m almost always the strong side safety and if it’s 12 personnel I might take the CB. I was never confident in doing that in the past. Idk if that’s me or the game but I feel it’s a bit of both.

I would have to check on the ones just called “Read Option” or “Power Read” which formation but these 3 as option variants are near unstoppable/broken.

I honestly hate how they turned NCAA into Madden. I use to love the old NCAA and never got into Madden because of gameplay and EA trying to add to much into the game. Now I find this version of NCAA unplayable because of the fun factor. Sometimes simpler is better IMO.

Another thing.... it is unconscionable that the background music for the game is not just a loop of different college fight songs. They already have all of the licensing.... instead they choose to spend probably $500K plus on some shitty repetitive drumline beat. They had it in NCAA 07... why get rid of it???
