Someone hired this scum bag
Not surprised. He turns 70 next week. Happy Birthday, Art. You're still employable because of your profession which is one that allows you to still be employable.

It appears that Rees is the Vegas oddsmakers current favorite for the UCLA HC job with a massive lead over the rest of the field:
  • Tommy Rees 2/1
  • Tony White 9/2 (+450)
  • Bob Chesney 3/2 (+150)
  • Kalani Sitake 7/1
  • Jerry Neuheisel 8/1
  • Jonathan Smith 8/1
Makes sense since he was born in LA and his father's coaching history there.

(And, The Browns are tanking.)

Ex-Notre Dame coordinator seemingly holds a commanding lead for UCLA opening

I'd be happy for him to get a HC gig and I understand they don't grow on trees, but woof. UCLA is a tough row to hoe.

Pretty sure 3/2 odds are shorter than 2/1. So unless the odds were written incorrectly in that article, Chesney is the favorite.

Chesney is going to UCLA unless he gets an offer from Penn State

We are officially entering schools get rejected and trickle down phase. Morris apparently rejected Arkansas for Ok State. Golesh has an Arkansas offer but dispute on if he’s taken it or not. May want the Ole Miss job. Sumrall could also want the Ole Miss job or just goes to Auburn. What if Kiffin does stay. Chesney as mentioned and PSU. Drinkwitz it seems has an extension likely on the table from Missouri, but he’s also out there. Someone is going to be left going to Choice B, C or D shortly.

I think the Jim Mora hire is a really good one for CSU. People love to talk about that place as one of untapped potential. Don’t think Mora will be the guy to reach that potential, but with his background he should be the guy who gets the infrastructure in place to make it possible for the next guy.

Silverfield I think is going to flop hard. Guy couldn’t ever live up to expectations in Memphis despite having more resources than the vast majority of the American. Don’t see him doing well at a second class SEC program
Some of us older guys, especially on the west coast, remember when CSU was Boise before Boise. Under Sonny Lubick, they had several season end top 25 finishes beating the likes of Oregon, Missouri, Mich State, Virginia, top 10 Arizona with the Desert Swarm defense, CU and would blow the doors off Utah when playing alongside them in the WAC. Can the program return to that? Who knows but sounds like they are willing to spend the money. U Conn as an Independent is going nowhere in football. When you think about the future Pac 12 all a team has to do is win the conference and finish ahead of the likes of Tulane or USF and you are in the playoffs.

An interesting and plausible, though very unlikely scenario I saw a few days ago. If Kiffin could have any job in CFB, it's probably Bama. Bama fans aren't totally sold on DeBoer yet. He loses games he shouldn't lose and isn't consistent. We're not convinced he'll ever win a NC at Bama. We haven't soured on him yet, but we're not convinced we aren't going to want to see other people either. PSU has made no secret of their wanting him. If he loses to Auburn this week and especially if we go to the SEC CG (likely) and lose there too, DeBoer to PSU might be a mutually agreed upon breakup and Kiffin may get a call. Not likely, but not implausible either.

When Saban retired I know Kiffin was mentioned but I remember a lot of smoke about Lane having burned his bridges on the way out of Tuscaloosa. Was that overplayed/inaccurate or more of a time heals all wounds thing?

Reminder that Kiffin is 3-4 all time vs Brian Kelly

I said this from the beginning that he should at least entertain an offer.

I keep seeing all these sports sites on Facebook and TikTok saying Penn state is signing their coach early next week. But no one will say a name

Some of both, I imagine, but more of the latter. I think he annoyed some of the powers that be, but has since done some damage control and been more conciliatory. I'd be glad to have him.

Can’t be. LSU fans have said they can simply make that not the case
