Maybe Lea can raid the recruiting class at UT now that Pruitt is fired and investigation underway for recruiting violations. And turning to Hugh Freeze would be dicey.
Anybody Irish could turn? I think they may have been after OT Mims, who appears to be at the center of some of the issues.

I live in Knoxville...They want Freeze, bigly. Baggage doesn't matter to them, they're desperate.

They'll always turn a blind eye...unless it's Schiano's baggage lol.

Peyton Manning is supposedly going to have a huge say in who they hire next. Is he on board with Freeze?

I really think they would have done fine with Schiano. Unless he's the Bill Snyder of Rutgers, but I think he would have done well at Tennessee.

Nothing like a Tennessee HC search, just sit back with some popcorn and watch the show.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Proud of Tennessee for discovering cheating for what had to be the first time in program history and taking decisive action, based on their moral code, to root out the person responsible while avoiding a buyout <a href="https://t.co/pwP6VAZan2">https://t.co/pwP6VAZan2</a></p>— Alex Kirshner (@alex_kirshner) <a href="https://twitter.com/alex_kirshner/status/1351219082411040772?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 18, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

This is pretty wild. They wanted to get rid of him, but not pay the buyout, so they took the time to do an "internal investigation" to find some low level infractions they could use as an excuse to exit the contract.

Think he was being facetious based off other tweets.

Does Pruitt have any legal recourse? This seems like such a shady thing to do. Hell, if I was an SEC team I would hire Pruitt as "Tennessee Negative Recruiter" get him to salt the ground.

I’d have to think the only way for Pruitt, or any HC to “fight back” would be if he could prove people above him were aware, encouraged it or complicit, which you’d have to think he can’t if they went ahead with it.

247 article had Lane Kiffin as a possible candidate to return to the Vols. LOL. I assumed they would be brandishing pitch forks if he showed up.

I can picture a sea of "Welcome Home Lane" t-shirts cheering madly as a chorus of "S-E-C" chants fill the air

I wonder if Derrick Ansley would be interested in the ND safeties coach job... I heard he was in the running for other DC jobs, but it doesnt look like he is going to land one.

Wouldnt mind replace Dell with Tee Martin too.

I don't think Tee Martin is going anywhere. I think Kevin Steele will basically keep most of the same staff and be the HC. Martin was also a Tennessee grad so I think he's sticking around for a while and even if a new coach comes in I think they'd be silly to bring in a different dude than Tee. If Ansley or Martin want to come to ND then I say sign them up. It would be fantastic!

That's what I'm thinking. Not to say he couldn't prove it, old people aren't very smart about emails and text messages.

Its the SEC, their existence as a member alone is prima facie evidence that they were complicit lol.

I’d love to know who’s brilliant idea it was to extend Pruitt after going 8-5 last season and being in no danger of another program (or NFL team) poaching him.

Right, it’s a tongue-in-cheek tweet. The facts are in the quoted article, and Pruitt’s lawyers comments are crazy.

Peyton wanted Schiano and when the fan base got behind Clay Travis and his boycott Schiano protest Peyton clammed up. Kinda surprised the admin would come back to him after that.

Yeah - very shady. But hey, if they hire Freeze that's an easy one for legal recourse. "Fire me because of illegalities in my recruiting but hire Freeze?" That lawsuit writes itself.

Somebody finally got Pete K away from UW.

That's a great get for Sark. Pete K is a great coach. Great at identifying talent and developing it which is something Texas has been piss poor at for awhile now. Also, should allow him to be pretty hands off with the defense.

I mean, even if the Sark hire was somewhat questionable, it really seems like he's putting together a dynamo staff.

Holy Shit, if that's true Pruitt will never work in college football again.
