Lane Kiffin and Jedd Fisch are the names connected to Florida in the event they fire Napier.
The obvious Urban Meyer and Jon Gruden clickbait is out there as well.
I saw his name come up in articles for both VT and UCLA. He started off with back to back 7-6 seasons with two bowl wins. This could be the year they put it together and he hits pay dirt. He's only 41.I think Alex Golesh gets a long look if USF makes the playoff.
Big if, but I do think SEC teams will come calling if they finish 11-1 and qualify.
Is Florida actually a better job than Ole Miss?Kiffin was desired in Florida when Napier was hired but he had a personal grudge against UF because his, then ex-wife Layla is an alum, but they've reconciled so maybe he would be interested. He's sort of run his course in Oxford and taken them about as far as he probably could.
Is Florida actually a better job than Ole Miss?
I guess so, based on upside, mainly from recruiting turf. But the last 15 years of results might signal otherwise.

It’s all about HC. Ole Miss had what seemed like the perfect hire in Hugh Freeze but he self-destructed. His interim replacement, Matt Luke; was obviously a miss (great OL Coach!) & now Kiffin has them playing great. Meanwhile UF has whiffed on everyone. Is Florida actually a better job than Ole Miss?

Yes it's better. In these situations, it's always the coach, not the program. Look at ND When discussing with others that maintained ND was not one of the best jobs, I always maintained it was just a string of bad hires. That was validated when Kelly was hired. It’s all about HC. Ole Miss had what seemed like the perfect hire in Hugh Freeze but he self-destructed. being media trained is a big part of being a CFB head coach and knowing how to use coach speak and the guy couldnt handle any of that.Foster was weird, man.
Didn’t want his players doing interviews during camp. He, himself, seems out of place at media days and even just being behind a microphone. There’s eccentric and then there is just whatever he is.
Absolutely. Florida has very deep pockets and one of the best athletic departments in the country. Kiffin is the first HC in Ole Miss history to have back to back 10 win seasons. He has taken them about as far as he can, maybe a playoff appearance would be the limit. The right guy at Florida can shake the pillars of heaven and earth. Is Florida actually a better job than Ole Miss?

He’s a man! A wealthy one at that. And well over 50. OKIE St needs some new blood.Down goes Gundy
If there is a category a state would rather not be first or last in, Oklahoma has overtaken West Virginia in just about all of them.A career in Politics beckons
Former president Kayse Shrum resigned in February, a month before an audit uncovering the university’s potential mismanagement of state funds went public, creating all kinds of problems at the top of the school. Interim president Jim Hess was later promoted into the full-time role, though he was given a notably short three-year term.
Athletic director Chad Weiberg is also in the unusual position of working without a contract since June, leading some in the industry to wonder whether it’ll actually be renewed
Off the top of my head:100%
I’ve posted this many times so scroll on if it’s redundant but ask any average CFB fan to name the coach who preceded these big name coaches who won it all at their respective school:
Mack Brown @ Texas
Steve Spurrier @ UF
Howard Schnellenberger @ Miami
Pete Carroll @ SC
Nick Saban @ LSU
Gene Stallings @ Bama
Nick Saban @ Bama (name all 4)
99.9% of CFB fans can’t name all the HC who preceded the above w/ the assistance of Google or AI.
Top of your head huh? Impressive if true although I never got that vibe from your previous posts.Off the top of my head:
John Mackovic preceded Mack Brown at Texas
Galen Hall preceded Steve Spurrier at Florida
Lou Saban preceded Howard Schnellenberger at Miami
Paul Hackett preceded Pete Carroll at USC
Gerry DiNardo preceded Nick Saban at LSU
Bill Curry preceded Gene Stallings at Alabama
Pre-Saban? Mike DuBose, Mike Price, Mike Shula and Dennis Franchione
Yeah, I'm a little off in the head. LOLTop of your head huh? Impressive if true although I never got that vibe from your previous posts.
Seems like a bad fit. Really feels like they need someone to help round that defense into shape...Collin Klein has been thrown out there
Va Tech and UCLA are both career suicide. It's not 2005 anymore.I saw his name come up in articles for both VT and UCLA. He started off with back to back 7-6 seasons with two bowl wins. This could be the year they put it together and he hits pay dirt. He's only 41.
Disagree on VT. They would be poised to make a run in the ACC with the right coach at the helm. UCLA has made some disastrous decisions despite the huge locationa advantage they haveVa Tech and UCLA are both career suicide. It's not 2005 anymore.
He's 58. His manhood claim is 18 years old and can now vote, enlist in the military, and star in a porno. He’s a man! A wealthy one at that. And well over 50. OKIE St needs some new blood.

And WTH did they fire them early enough to allow their entire roster to enter the portal?Va Tech and UCLA are both career suicide. It's not 2005 anymore.
