Brett McMurphy reporting it's a done deal for Aranda to Baylor.

This would make me a bit nervous about Lea if I were ND.

Clark Lea and LSU are like oil and water. I'd be surprised if Lea is leaving ND in the 11th hour for LSU.

Is anyone looking at Scott Shafer, former DC at Michigan and Syracuse and then HC at Syracuse for a DC position? He is now DC at Middle Tennessee.

With Luke Kuechly's retirement, LB coach somewhere might be attractive should he wish to pursue that career path.

About time the Big 12 gets defense-focused. Oklahoma going 0-4 in the playoffs is a good blueprint for this move.

Todd Orlando may be a fit. Is it possible Elko leaves Jimbo for Baton Rouge? I would love that. I also read that Charlie Strong may want it. . .

They also run a pretty darn different scheme than ND. I don’t think after winning a national title they’d want to recruit a different style of defense for Clark Lea and change their system. Imo it’ll be someone who isn’t too far off Aranda’s scheme and has been successful. But I’m not sure. LSU does some crazy stuff.

SO glad we got Tommy locked down, you know Georgia wanted him.

because you can only have a good hire by definition if other teams wanted said person.

You'll have to tell me how many people were offering Dabo P5 head coaching jobs when Clemson hired him?

I love how you go directly to the best case scenario.

you went directly to Rees hire is shit because UGA didnt interview him, which makes just as much sense right?

bad takes, typically induce bad responses.

Watched a little segment on the ACC network talking with 4 championship coaches (Dabo, Boeheim, Muffet and Tony Bennet) from the ACC.

Forget what the moderators question was exactly, but Dabo brought up that he still remembers that there was an article from a website that was grading the hires of College Football that year. They gave Clemson a D+ for the Dabo hire. LOL

Edit: Found the clip below

A new name to watch for Notre Dame’s next Tight Ends coach

Premium but the picture is of Colts' Assistant Offensive Line Coach - Klayton Adams

College: Boise State
Hometown: Sacramento, Calif.
Experience: 15 years

Adams is in his first season with the Colts as assistant offensive line coach. He has 14 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.

Adams spent the last six seasons at Colorado, where he served as co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach (2018) and offensive line coach (2016-17) after serving three seasons (2013-15) coaching the running backs and tight ends.

From 2016-17, Adams' unit paved the way for running back Phillip Lindsay to become the first player in school history to register 1,000 rushing yards in back-to-back seasons (1,474 yards in 2017 and 1,189 yards in 2016). In 2016, the Buffaloes compiled their highest average per rush (4.12) in 10 seasons while Lindsay became the school's first 1,000-yard rusher in seven years.

In 2015, six different players rushed for at least 200 yards for just the fourth time in school history. Colorado had four different players rush for over 300 yards in 2014 for the first time in school history.

Prior to Colorado, Adams served as the tight ends coach at San Jose State for two seasons (2011-12). He coached two-time John Mackey Award watch list member Ryan Otten to Honorable Mention All-America recognition.

Adams coached two seasons at Sacramento State, where he served as the offensive tackles/tight ends coach (2009) before being promoted to offensive line coach (2010). He coached three players to All-Big Sky Conference honors while at Sacramento State. Adams served as run game coordinator/offensive line coach at Western Washington for two seasons (2007-08).

In 2006, Adams served as offensive graduate assistant at his alma mater, Boise State. The 2006 Broncos went 13-0 and defeated Oklahoma in a 43-42 overtime victory in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. Boise State ended the 2006 season ranked No. 5 in the Associated Press poll, No. 6 in the Coaches poll and No. 8 in the final BCS rankings. Adams began his coaching career in 2005 as a student assistant for the Broncos.

Adams graduated from Boise State with a bachelor's degree in mass communication with an emphasis in journalism. He lettered twice at center on the Broncos' 2003 and 2004 Western Athletic Conference championship teams that had a combined 24-2 record and won the 2003 Fort Worth Bowl and played in the 2004 Liberty Bowl. The Broncos finished 13-1 his junior year and were ranked No. 15 in the Coaches poll and No. 16 in the final Associated Press poll. Adams was 11-1 his senior year as the team finished No. 10 in the final BCS rankings, No. 12 by the Associated Press and No. 13 in the Coaches poll. He was named a Second Team All-WAC selection his senior season.

Adams was born on Feb. 13, 1983, in Sacramento, Calif. He graduated from Sheldon High School (Elk Grove, Calif.), where he lettered in football, wrestling and track and field.

Adams and his wife, Stefani, have three daughters, Mya, Emmy and Harper.

Graham Harrell is staying with SC and not going to the Eagles.

Love Scott Frost hiring Lubick to be his OC at Nebraska. Good hire.

BK sucks too because he didn't interview for any NFL jobs this off season.

I think Tommy will be the last OC that Kelly hires at ND, taking my shot. Not because BK is going to get ousted, but I think Rees will be successful for 2-3 years and BK will call it quits then. 11 seasons is what all the successful coaches had at ND with only Rockne going to 13. BK is on 10 already.

ND's very own Anthony Weaver just got promoted to DC for the Houston Texans.

Go Irish and much success to Coach Weaver.

A name I haven’t heard in awhile. One of my favorite defensive players during his time at ND.

Good for him!

Yup. That ought to allow pOSU to overcome the problems they've had recruiting for their secondary.

Freddie Roach, who has been Ole Miss's DL coach for the last three years, has recently been promoted by Lane Kiffin. The NY Giants reportedly were interested in hiring Roach, a former Alabama All-SEC player and staff member at Alabama. Both Giants coach Joe Judge and Kiffin worked with Roach at Alabama.

Roach decided to stay at Ole Miss. Ole Miss had just announced on Saturday that Roach would be remaining with the program as part of Lane Kiffin’s new staff with the titles of assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator in addition to being the defensive line coach.

With current Bama DL coach expected to move into the assistant athletics director for football, Roach interviewed for the Tide's DL coaching job on Monday and is expected to accept the position.
