This is the window where the Irish could win a Ship.

If we convince Lea to stick around, keep Book, Javon, and a few others... we could really do it.

Its possible this year... But we're absolutely on track right now and the COVID possibilities for retaining veterans makes this window serious AF.

Keep Lea.

Might be the most impressive defensive performance I've seen a ND team have in the past two decades. If our offense was clicking we would've had a chance to run them out of their own stadium. I honestly thought it was gonna take 40 to win this game. Turns out 20 was enough.

I wonder if there are really going to be many good jobs open for Lea this offseason. A lot of Athletic Departments don't have the money to shell out to buy out contracts and enter into new ones.

Excellent point. Hadn’t really thought about that before.

Vanderbilt at what? 0-7? Something tells me they'll be looking for change between the cushions to make it happen.

ND has to do anything possible to keep Lea. And to think I had no idea who he was, and was kinda disappointed in the hire, after Elko did ok, and left quick. I thought it was an easy hire, I was wrong. Lea>Elko. Lea>>>>>>VanGorder.

Yep. Wrap your arms around him and don't let him go anywhere.

Sign him to a massive raise with an even bigger buyout.
Head Coach in waiting, King of Indiana, whatever.

I had 38-21. Was surprised to see NC score the 2nd TD so easily, but after the second one, the D was down right vicious.

Give him a blank check, he tells you what he wants, and it's a done deal.

If there was ever a time to have a head coach in waiting, now is the time. I'd take Lea over the "up an coming" coaches like Matt Campbell and PJ Fleck.

I fully agree. Give him a big raise. Tell Kelly to set a year and Clark then takes over.

I see Dave Clawson’s name thrown out there sometimes. Could see him interested in Wake if it comes open. Seems better than Vandy to me.

He could probably get a better job than vandy I imagine. Although Vandy would be a good spot for him aside for personal reasons. If he gets to a bowl game every year he could get a lifetime contract . . . .or wait for Kelly to retire and take over.

Better than P5 basement dweller? Yeah. Hard to beat being his alma mater though.

What exactly is he gonna do at Vandy? I understand he’s an alum, but that’s a dead end job. Huge chance he’d flutter out and end up somewhere even lower.

If I were him I'd be chatting with BK about how long he plans on sticking around because yeah...Clark is gonna get some good offers but if BK is leaving anytime soon...might make sense to hold down the fort until then

Wouldn't be a job I'd take if I were looking for upward trajectory, but that's just me. The ceiling there is pretty low.

BK’s got 4 years left after this one, right? Sounded pretty legit when he talked about getting an extension that takes him to retirement.

Pay Clark Lea whatever he wants to hang out for another four years... and try to pay Tommy to stick around, too.

They are already talking about it on sport radio here in Nashville.

NOBODY wants another DC as head coach. They did mention Clark Lea but they said the AD should be going after Jeff Monken or Ken Niumatalolo with a pocket full of cash.

I see Clark Lea like Niele Ivey's situation. Obviously Ivey is a ND alum and Lea is not. If Lea leaves for a different opportunity I am OK with that, but I see him coming back if ND were to call.

But if ND wants to keep him as DC, I don't give any other school the opportunity. In fact after the regular season ends they will have time before the CFB playoffs I'd have a conversation with Lea.
