I'm a man of many vices, two of which are cigars/pipes and alcohol. I've pulled the reigns in a bit on both since my wife became pregnant in December which is probably why they've been on my mind lately. Just figured I'd start this thread to see if we've got any other cigar/pipe enthusiasts amongst us. I know there are plenty of alcohol drinkers in here (especially during football season) so I figured I'd try and include y'all as well. Looking to see what brand/style of whichever IE'ers prefer. I'll start with what I'm enjoying tonight. As I type this I've got a delicious Left Hand Milk Stout that I like to drink at about room temp. For all you stout/Guinness drinkers out there... give this a shot! It's my favorite stout. My cigar of choice tonight is a brand that I'm rather unfamiliar with: a Gurkha Assassin. It's a full-bodied Nicaraguan cigar that's really not too bad. What are you drinking/smoking tonight?

I can't wait to see NDOM's answer to pipes and what he's smoking.

You ever had Pliny the Elder? It's a double IPA from Russian River Brewing Co. out here in NorCal. It's one of the best beers I've ever had. Ever.

Long Islands were my drink of choice for about 2 years while I was out in Monterey, CA. Good choice, GB.

Whisky, straight whisky. Usually stick with Jack or Jim, but I'm treating myself next spring with Johnny Walker Blue Label when I graduate grad school. It's going to be a long, but worth it wait.

As for cigars, most maduros will do it. I like the dark, rich flavor.

If you're in Knoxville any time soon let me know. I know a bar that serves some of the best Long Island Iced Tea's I've ever had for 2 bucks on thursdays and sundays.

I can't do dark liquors at the moment. A buddy was feeding me shots of Crown all night a little while back and they gave me my worst night ever. The smell turns my stomach to knots. I do, however, LOVE tequila and my preference is Cabo Wabo Reposado. It's so smooth and tasty.

Jameson

Not a big cigar guy

Wheat allergy limits me on my beers but Harp is something I LOVE! If a bar has it on tap, I will return at least twice no matter how long I am around!

Pliny the Elder is amazing. Easier to find and very good as well would be Stone Brewing Ruination and Green Flash Brewing Palate Wrecker. Both are very bitter.

I enjoy beer and red wine but my passion is whisky. I have 100 or so bottles open and another 20 or so closed. I have bourbons, ryes, lots of single malt scotches, indian whisky (amrut), irish and some japanese. My everyday favorites are Lagavulin 12yo Cask strength, Laphroaig 10yo cask strength, Highland Park 18 and Macallan 18. I am getting thirsty just thinking about it. Time to go pour.

My favorite beer: Cold

I'm in law school. Drinking is the only thing that keeps me sane.

I was against smoking cigars until my buddies got some for the Bears-Packers NFC championship in 2010. First one I ever had. We smoked them on the balcony of a high-rise condo that looked down into Soldier Field. Don't smoke them often, but I never turn one down.

Not a picky cigar smoker-but I certainly have a humidor with a few there for when I'm in the mood. That and my hookah!

Drinks: Glenmorangie (trying out the 3rd of the new ones-like them all), Walker Double Black, and Walker Black-then Jameson's of course.

Nice. I've got a couple buddies who just graduated from law school last year. They said it was pretty intense so I can imagine the importance of alcohol.

Is the new Glenmo you are drinking the Artein? If so what do you think of it?

Nope-sorry. Original obviously and then the other one's I have downed (in quick succession I may add-ouch!) are Nectar, Quinta, and Lasanta (the one I'm on now). I stay away from the finer selections as I drink them too quickly-plus I only have 1 decanter....

Duty free kills me!

Beer?

Summer Shandy now that it's getting hot down here in TX....Nothing better than some yard work and Shandy's.

Other than that, It's either Harp or Dos Equis.

And I agree with IrishinTN...Nothing better than mexican beer and seafood! Oysters and Dos Equis....fantastic.

Liquor?

Always a bottle of McAllan 18 (neat) in my house. At all times. And Tang 10(tonic).
