We've also got a Lou Malnati's, a Giordano's, and a dozen other Chicago-based franchises now.

My experiences with Lou Malnati's were not good. Giordano's, on the other hand, I would go out of my way to get when I was in town. That and Gino's East.

What I loved most about Chicago were all of the mom and pop pizza places in the neighborhoods that were far superior than the chain places. I'm a thin crust guy before deep dish, but either way the best pizza I've had while traveling has usually been in Chicago at the small business places.

Tree of 'em now. Scottsdale, Tempe & somewhere on the westside.

Just like back home, there's typical hole in the wall, hot dog joints that are even better.

There was a place in Chicago on the NW side called Duke's. Best Italian beef sandwich I've ever had.

It was across the street from a place called Colletti's which was also really really good. Great food, great pizza.

I miss traveling.

Wow - that's pretty awesome. I had no idea there were so many Chicago eateries in AZ. Eating Italian beef sandwiches after playing golf in January...sign me up...

I do too. Gave it up because of the ages of my kids at the time and it was absolutely the right choice, but now I miss it. Especially the regional foods I enjoyed.

They had 47 yards of offense yesterday???

I watched some of it. Coaching malfeasance. The playcalling hung Fields out to dry. It was horrible. I'm not quick to suggest firing people, but man, that game was a fireable offense.

And if you think the ND OL is bad, you should've seen these guys.

Their GM and HC should be fired. It's time.

Their GM and HC should be sued by Fields for negligence.

Honestly, if they fire Nagy and Pace, who fills in at this point? I think they need to start fresh everywhere adn I don't know who is out there waiting to coach or GM.

Will add the Chicago opponent to my Flex Defense list for fantasy. Whoever is playing the Jets or the Bears are must starts.

Very happy this game was not on locally.

I always say teams that are looking to catch lightning in a bottle with an amazing QB draft opportunity is building a good, young OL. Doesn't matter who you draft if they are getting sacked NINE times in one game.

Ideally? At long last, get rid of Ted Phillips and Ryan Pace. Hire Omar Khan, Steelers VP of football and business administration to replace. Then hire Brian Daboll as your HC.

Ted Phillips is not going anywhere, and that I believe is your issue.

It's honestly very fitting that 7 years ago, almost to the day, I made this thread right as the Bears were being torched by Tom Brady. Literally ripped this whole organization to shreds for their insulting ineptitude and unacceptable effort and incompetence.

Now 7 years later, glad to see virtually nothing has changed. We're sitting here, 7 years later, watching as the Bears are being torched by Tom Brady. And I wish I could rip this whole organization to shreds for their insulting ineptitude and unacceptable effort and incompetence, but at this point, anything I say would just be redundant.

This franchise is rotted from the top on down. Incompetent ownership breeds incompetent management breeds incompetent coaching breeds incompetent players.

Bears are idiots. No name coach who was DC for mediocre defense last year. GM promising but unproven.

If the Bears succede it's because they hit on something despite firing blindly into the dark. As a fan I hope they get lucky but I just don't see it here, especially on the coach.

Like if Marcus Freeman tanks at ND, I would still get all the reasons ND made the hire . I don't even get the reasons behind this, especially the coach hire.

I'm going to give this a chance and hope the Bears succeeded here through pure dumb luck.

Edit: I don't know how to embed tweets anymore. The gist: Colts D has been pretty good since Eberflus took over in 2018.

If the Bears secede, they should go to Canada provided Aaron Rodgers isn't playing up there. (Insert Covid toe joke)

The promising unproven GM made the coaching hire, and he was insistent he be able to do so without interference if he were to be hired. I give him credit for that because if he had taken this job and they saddled him with a HC, it was Pace and John Fox all over again. STF out of his way and let him do his job.

This guy needs to hire an offensive staff to build around Justin Fields, who is their asset for better or worse since the previous GM mortgaged another draft in order to get him.

Curious, but who did you have in mind as opposed to the guy they hired? I would have thought getting Daboll from Buffalo to coach Fields would have been a great match, but I don't know much about the search other than they were interviewing coaches without a GM until the GM was hired and said "GTF out of my way and let me hire the coach."

Saw a tweet that the Bears will be looking into the Shanahan tree for an OC. Not sure if that's well-sourced, but hey why not take a look at Gary Kubiak's son, Klint?

So they fired Ryan and Matt and then hire Ryan and Matt......

I knew that the Bears were cheap, but I didn't think that they were that bad, saving money on all kinds of office supplies, Christmas cards, Virginia McCaskey doesn't have to relearn new names...

Eberflus has put a pretty good defense on the field since he arrived. Injuries and no edge rush guys hurt his D this year. Players like him. Have no idea how he'll do as a HC, but Reich said he would end up a HC at some point.

Speaking of Da Bears… it appears that Coach Lovie Smith is headed to the Houston Texans as the new HC

I am starting to think Justin Fields isn't any good.

New front office, new coaching staff, another mess from previous regime left to fix. Lather rinse repeat.
