Brings back memory’s of Vanderjackoff blowing it for the Colts. Tough way to lose a game.

This tweet didn’t age well.

This game was truly in the margins. I've seen some wonky ones. This one ranks right up there.

I've seen some reports from local Chicago sports guys that Pagano was first choice when Fangio left and it got done by Thursday night.

Some of the reports out of Chicago suggest that Trubisky and the rest of the offense are far less limited than they were last year.

This could be a very fun team to keep an eye on in 2019.

I love Mitch, but can't say I've bought in 100% on him. Very encouraging report though.

You're probably not alone.

I like him as a player. From what I have seen of him, he's a terrible interview and won't be all that entertaining off of the field when it comes to pressers. Not hanging with celebrities and is probably boring so he'll stay out of trouble. That's all good.

I think they're going to open up the playbook a bit more. Should be fun. That Nagy bloke probably has some neat stuff in there that he hasn't unleashed yet.

Yes and yes. If the offense can come around a bit more this will be a very exciting team. Aw, hell, they're already exciting. They would be a contender - which is not something I would have expected to be able to say so soon after the Trestman and John Fox eras.

They were 6 plays away from being the '72 Dolphins last season.

I firmly believe what we saw last fall was the '84 Bears 2.0

I am locked in..

Just gotta order my "Double D", Dave Duerson alt jersey and I'm set. Oh, gonna need a pair of those socks too.

Yikes to that uniform. That helmet is a little to close to the winged helmet for my liking....

I thought Nagy was really impressive last year; he is really creative and disguises his plays very well. It took some cojones to insert Tarik Cohen over the proven Jordan Howard but it paid dividends.

But, his playcalling is no longer a "secret" in year 2, he won't be catching anyone int he league off guard. I think that was a big advantage last year, especially early on. But it really is a treat to watch him call plays and scheme. Trubisky would have to take another step forward for them to be a true contender, IMO.

The north is going to be very competitive. I think the Pack got a lot better retooling their D, and Minnesota is still a very competitive team, solid D with a lot of weapons on offense, especially is Cook stays healthy this year.

I have an irrational love for this look. Just waiting for my Khalil Mack jersey to be delivered. With you on the socks, need a pair of those.

The Bears wore that exact uni in the 30's before Crisler brought it over with him from Princeton. Michigan was actually the 4th B1G team to have a winged helmet. It ain't nothing special

I see what you're getting at, but I disagree. Nagy's playcalling was heavily limited by inexperience in year one, so a lot of his playcalling had to be scaled back. In addition, a lot of the plays ran through Trubisky, which will continue and be expanded upon.

I'm a bit weary of Green Bay's retooled defense, with the additions of Smith and Smith at OLB, along with putting Amos at safety. However, I'm just not convinced that Gary is going to be anything more than solid in the NFL. He's got immense talent, but his work ethic is spotty and he's struggled to stay healthy throughout his time at Michigan.

On offense, I just think things are going to cave big time for them. I think they botched their HC choice and they're relying heavily on Rodgers carrying a lackluster offensive cast.

With Minnesota, they will go where Kirk Cousins takes them. He was a massive disappointment last year, and the defense wasn't the same. Regarding Cooks, I think he's the Vikings Kevin White. Dude cannot stay healthy and it's affecting his ability on the field and the ability to get on the field. Also think they miss Pat Shurmur more than they could've realized.

I think all three teams improved, but the Bears had the most room to grow internally. Other than Rodgers, there isn't a player in the North that is Khalil Mack's caliber, and then you have guys like Akiem Hicks, Eddie Goldman, Roquan Smith, Kyle Fuller and Eddie Jackson to top that? I'm sure Green Bay's defense is better, but it won't be even close to that level. While I don't think Chicago will a Rodger's led level of dominance, that offense has a lot of talent at receiver, TE and RB to combine with a solid OL and a QB with a high ceiling and a good head on his shoulders, matched with a good young offensive mind.

Also, no "yikes". Those uniforms are actually really nice. So much better than their throwbacks they've been wearing the last few years. Definitely better than the Packers uglier than death throwbacks.

That game probably took 10 years off my life.

Nagy bailed the hell out by Eddy Dinero!

The sideline clip of Nagy telling Trubisky "Shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up right now" is pure gold.

Absolutely love it and love his explanation of it even more.

It makes me laugh when I see reporters &/or fans knocking this type of interaction.

Clearly they are the ones that didn't play football. My middle school football coaches said worse than "shut the *uck up."

Biscuit sucks - I will forever be annoyed by that 2017 draft. Sitting at #3 with 3 clear first round QBs, all with flaws - just take whoever falls to you. Instead they trade up like fools for a guy that anyone else saw going after Watson and Mahomes anyway. Could have picked up so much draft capital moving back but instead spent it on a guy only the Bears saw as an elite QB. Already a big risk move but to move up for it to boot? Because they have such a great track record drafting offensive skill players - such twats.

So classic Bears to have an all world defense and such a crappy offense led by a barely serviceable QB.

It is the NFL and it's a Year 3 quarterback. Talking to a ten year old like this probably makes a coach an idiot. Talking to Trubisky this way during a timeout? Zero issues with it.

I bet Bears take a mid round QB this year, and they should.

Mitch is fine. He got off to a rough start, but he was getting no help from his offense and playcalling. Monday was a huge sigh of relief, as Mitch played well and showed progress.

I'm infinitely more concerned with the OL. They've been horrible all year. Long is a complete waste of space. The Whitehair-Daniels position switch has been a failed experiment. Leno has regressed and Massie has been hurt. They need to get that figured out.
