I don't understand the concern about having a stadium in the suburbs. They could play in Gary, In or Kenosha, WI. Just win for once.

Mike North feels the same way.
I get why CITY HALL doesn't want them to leave.I understand why Chicago wants the Bears in Chicago. They do not want to accelerate urban decay. Remove da Bears from downtown and you remove one more connection to downtown. The economic impact is real but the need to play economic defense is more imperative. Any "concern" about moving to the suburbs is bullshit though, they are just running interference.

I'm talking more about local fans here, regardless of where they live. Selfishly, Arlington Heights is great for me logistically. Going downtown for any reason is typically a pain in the ass.
Same here...we could bike to the game from my house (8-9 minutes by car)I get why CITY HALL doesn't want them to leave.

Easy way around this, be a Bears fan lol. Go to sleep after pick 9 (if they haven't traded it by then).Officially at the annual state of I hate Thursday night draft.. Going to be in bed not even half way through the first round.. Wish they'd do 1-2 Friday and the rest Saturday
This. I think four QBs and two WRs go somewhere between 1-8 (which means someone trades up to take McCarthy). I think of Alt is there, you go Alt, but that's probably because I am biased. I just don't see how he falls past Tennessee though.I'm hoping for Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze. I have a sneaking suspicion that the 9th pick could end up being an OT, though, but I do think the Bears will keep it. They only have four picks, so it depends on how much they covet that 9th pick.
I will admit, if Alt is there at 9 and Odunze is too, I'd be torn.
If Alt is there and the Bears are convinced he has all-pro ceiling as a LT, you have to take him. If Williams is half as good as they hope he is and you pair him with a premium LT, you don't need another receiver at this point: Moore, Allen, and Kmet are more than good enough if you have a QB who can throw at the NFL level.I'm hoping for Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze. Oh good. I’m not the only sane human left on the planet. If Alt is there and the Bears are convinced he has all-pro ceiling as a LT, you have to take him. Why is it insane to draft a high end WR at number 9, a position of need no less. We're not talking about RB or the cornerback from Toledo. Odunze gets Michael Irvin and Larry Fitzgerald comps.Oh good. I’m not the only sane human left on the planet.

Allen is 31 and Moore is 27. How many more miles they have left? That duo gets Caleb Williams to what, maybe 24 or 25 years old? Then what?
The interior OL needed fixing. They've addressed that. They got Allen, who at 31 gives them a short term fix. Kmet is 25 and got new paper. He's going to be around.
Something else to keep an eye on: Murphy from Texas is the three technique that Eberflus desperately wants and needs for his defense. Kid is a slam dunk fit for the scheme.
Well Odunze is projected to be an outside X guy, not a slot if that's what you're saying. He's graded as a blue chip receiver that would go in the top 5 many drafts, it's just that he shares a draft with 2 guys that look to be the best receiver prospects since maybe AJ Green/Julio Jones, depending on how you felt about Jamarr Chase. This is a legit great prospect and not merely a guy they take just to take a receiver.I’ll bet a Billion Bobby Bucks Odunze isnt that guy. They can get that slot next year with their top 15 pick.
Joe Alt currently has a 91.9% chance to be All Pro next year and 87.7% chance to be a HOFer.
60% of the time, it works every time.I’ll bet a Billion Bobby Bucks Odunze isnt that guy. They can get that slot next year with their top 15 pick.

I've seen Fashanu ranked ahead of Alt in more than one publication. If Alt is gone, are we still adamant about OT that they take Fashanu if he's there? You've got to have playmakers. I have to Google who the starting OT are for the Chiefs.Well Odunze is projected to be an outside X guy, not a slot if that's what you're saying. Really I don't think the Bears can go wrong with any of these top O guys. Shoot I'd even take Fuaga out of Oregon State and have a great Guard.
At the same time who were the chiefs wrs?I've seen Fashanu ranked ahead of Alt in more than one publication. If Alt is gone, are we still adamant about OT that they take Fashanu if he's there? You've got to have playmakers. I have to Google who the starting OT are for the Chiefs.
You're giving Williams a long term WR target to grow along with along with a guy who comes in and plays now, giving their offense major big play potential with the help they've already acquired. I still contend that if at 9 any of those three WR are left, you get one.
Keep in mind they own the 75th pick and could take an OT there.
I was under the impression OL was a position of need as well. Fields had terrible OL’s for years and look what it did to his confidence? I’d definitely prefer giving Williams more protection than weapons. Build his confidence without being chased in the backfield all the time. Why is it insane to draft a high end WR at number 9, a position of need no less. Hardman. Hill. Watkins. Schuster. Scantling. Toney. The Chiefs addressed their OL in free agency as the Bears just did this offseason in the IOL.At the same time who were the chiefs wrs?
I think the bears have more than enough offensive weapons to have a great offense IF Williams is a competent NFL QB. I don't really think he will be so I'd rather invest in the OL if the they're going to be investing draft picks on offensive. Now if Alt and Fashanu are both gone. And the expected run on QBs does happen the Bears have their choice between 2 of the wrs. And hopefully Harrison because he's the only one of the 3 I really think is a sure thing.
If all three WR are gone, I'll bet a billion booby tassels they pick Murphy at 9.Murphy is tenacious. He's not as tall as some of the elite DTs but he's explosive, tenacious, and has longer arms than Christian Wilkins at least.

Wasn't Poles first season the training camp that Jenkins sat out? My memory may be off, but I feel like he even requested a trade.Hardman. Hill. Watkins. Schuster. Scantling. Toney. The Chiefs addressed their OL in free agency as the Bears just did this offseason in the IOL.
Poles drafted Wright last year. Jenkins was drafted in the second round in 2021. How comfortable Poles is with Jenkins remains to be seen, but they addressed the IOL in free agency and not tackle. They got Keenan Allen. Their top needs right now are probably QB, WR, EDGE, OT in that order.
Caleb Williams threw last week with Moore, Allen and Odunze. He and Odunze flew to the draft together. The Bears did not interview any other QBs. They're all in on this guy. Very likely that ninth pick is a WR or OT. I hope it's a WR. I've seen enough shit offense in my life from a franchise best known for a defense that played 40 years ago and playing in bad winter weather when they used to make the playoffs.
It was 2022. He missed camp due to a back injury that required surgery. The trade requests were denied and likely just rumor.Wasn't Poles first season the training camp that Jenkins sat out? My memory may be off, but I feel like he even requested a trade.
