Ohio State will sell their allotment and be well represented in Nawlins. INSIDE the dome will be an even 50-50 split. I don't think the advantage is that big.

It's not just fan representation in the stadium. It's also travel, local climate, and stadium familiarity. And even if the advantage is not 'that big,' there shouldn't be an advantage for either team.

It's no different than any other year for bowls, but I see your point. USC always played in the Rose Bowl, Miami/FSU in the Orange Bowl, and SEC champ in the Sugar Bowl. These are all glorified home games.

*Its the way it broke down this year, and was already set before the selections that 1 & 4 would be Sugar and 2 & 3 Rose.

Honestly, I think that only the championship game should be neutral and that all rounds leading up to that should be home games for the higher seeds. Of course, that'd be good for Bama too, but at least it'd be consistently fair; if you want home field advantage, earn it. That would also be awesome from a game atmosphere standpoint. It's disappointing that they chose such a commercially-focused arrangement.

This bullsh!t is as bad as the BCS was. How can a team be ranked #3, beat the bullsh!t out of a team 55-3 and drop 3 places? Either the committee (which is a complete frinckin' joke) screwed up having TCU ranked that high in the first place OR money "under the table" starts rolling from O$U and Urban Liar to get them in! As much as I hate Alabama (which can't even compare to scUM and U$C), I hope they kick the living dog sh!t out of O$U (cheatin' bastards playing in a junior league)! Muther f**k this pisses me off!!!

BCS was a much much better system!

U trippin. U want a random formula on a computer picking the teams? Hell no. Plus, better match ups in the major bowl games. Also, putting all the Major Bowls back on NYE/NYD. This is an extreme upgrade.

A few thoughts:
-ND would have in way made it in at 11-1
-ND will have to join a conference and all conferences will now have a title game because the Big 12 got left in the cold due to lack of a title game
-OSU is fittin' to get their shit pushed in and Saban might make Urban Meyer quit football again
-I will be a gigantic Oregon fan the rest of the way

Yes. Formulas are far more objective. Baylor got shafted because a committee of humans realized that OSU $$$>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Baylor $$$. Last week TCU was the 3rd best team in the nation. 1 week later after winning their game by 52 points they are now the 6th best team in the nation because once again OSU $$$>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>TCU $$$.

I am completely confused. The higher seeds should have home games; but AL shouldn't get the advantage of the bowl game being in their backyard; but AL is the higher(and highest) seed, therefore earning the right to an advantage; game atmosphere should be awesome because of this ...

This 100%. There is a reason why people employ algorithms to handle big data challenges. If you think people can draw objective conclusions from large data sets more effectively than a well-designed algorithm, you are painfully ignorant of how industries that use large data sets (defense/science/finance/meteorology, etc) work. A person or group of people will ALWAYS be too biased/underinformed/limited to handle the available data in a complete and honest way without good analysis (Meaning, algorithmic computer analysis, not the f*cking eye test). That is an utterly objective fact. Or do you believe that all large data sets should be handled by committee without the use of algorithms? I'm sure we could put weather prediction up to a vote and it would totally not result in crop failure and famine /s.

I'm saying they backed into the home advantage by chance (which is unfair) instead of by design (which would be fair and consistent from year to year).

I either want there to be consistently no advantage for either team due to geography, or consistently an advantage for the higher seed. My ideal for this would be home games for the higher seed in round 1.

I can see why you'd be confused; my statements were somewhat convoluted.

Did you just call a formula random in comparison with the way this committee operates?

Your other posts are beginning to make sense.

Got ya - now I understand.

I do agree the higher seed should always have an advantage and it should be part of the process.

My thoughts exactly. If your number 3 one week and you win by 52 pts, how the f&?k can u drop 3 spots??? This is worse than the fu(kin' BSC!!! This is a frickin' joke (no,not BradyJoke exscUM coach) a real frickin' joke. Fuck this shit, I'm going back to watching the NFL rather than this bullshit!!! CFB consume by the almighty dollar!!!

The secondary comment may be unnecessary, but seriously, a formula doesn't change. Variables change and make the outcome different, but the formula itself is far from random. It's freaking math. What math are the committee members doing? They just dropped the same team they had at #3 in the country 3 spots after winning a game 55-3.

Yea but this is better. Its gonna be natural bias' but this is a better option than a computer formula.

Why is it a better option than a computer formula? I haven't seen you provide a reason.

I don't understand the complaining about TCU. They're 11-1 against an average schedule. Ohio State is 12-1 against an average schedule. That's not bias, 12-1 is objectively better than 11-1.

Isn't 13-0 better than 12-1?

Who do you WANT to win? I'm rooting for FSU since that's basically our conference. Then Bama (because I don't like Oregon), then Oregon, then OSU.

I'd pay to guarantee OSU didn't win it.

I don't get the OSU hate around here. They're a Midwestern power that also hates Michigan and I'm pretty sure 99.8% of us would personally chip in to a "bribe Urban to ND" fund.

I hate everything about both Oregon and FSU. Alabama is everyone's favorite so I guess I'd pull for Ohio State of the four.

Try living in Columbus around fans that openly celebrate Cordell Jones' play school tweet and think they're awesome and can beat anyone.

Koon lives in the center of OSU country.

Me, I'd like to see Bama. I don't like Urban, the FSU QB is a felon, and Oregon is probably my 2nd choice to win it this year.

Good thing you're not in charge of anything involving large data sets that are associated with things more important than football or else people could die.

Consistent methodology leading to consistent outcomes is the basis for much of modern society. Not sure why you think that kind of track record should be tossed out in favor of the opinions of an assembly of people who generally don't know what they're doing.

Clearly have never interacted with OSU people. That's where the hate comes from.

I hate every team of the 4 for different reasons...

Ohio State, because lacrosse.
Florida State, because Winston and Fisher.
Oregon, because cheating and Nike money and Justin Hopkins.
Bama, because Bama.

Sooo... I think I'm rooting for Bama.
