There’s the potential for OSU to open up with an Urban retirement. USC fires Helton. OU with Riley bolting to the NFL. Could be a huge coaching off season.

Feels like there's a lot of middleweights - UNC, Colorado, Louisville, Texas Tech - that could make a big-time hire but will probably have to wait in line for the potential heavyweights - USC, OSU - to make their moves. And early signing day approacheth.
Should be fun to watch, purely as a spectator this time around.

Edit: Though if OSU makes the playoffs now I guess no one will be waiting around for Urban to decide if he's going to stay.

It's a much better decision than firing him for Jeff Fisher or Jack del Rio as was rumored.

I’d hire Kingsbury to replace Chip Long if he left. Kingsbury is a good young football coach. He ran the 2nd best offense in the power 5 in 2012 as the OC of Texas A&M.

Did the NCAA ever end up putting in those limits on the number of analysts teams are allowed? Because if not we should be putting in calls to any and all innovative minds who are being let go now. We're getting $6mil for the playoff payout, might as well use some of it to see if we can actually win it all.

I’d love him as an Analyst but I think he gets a Power 5 OC job next season.

His O was less than spectacular at WK, so not an upper P5 job IMO.
I was done with him after the NC State and Stanford duds in 2016.

Analyst, sure, but give me Kingsbury or Fedora... or someone like that over Sanford.

Kingsbury (time in SEC/TAMU), and Fedora (both ACC and SEC) would be good analyst.
