1. Harper coming on at the perfect time… the week before you play a crazy WR group. BENMO, Hart and now Harper give you a chance to keep MHJ and Egbuka from killing you.
2. A lot of true 4-WR looks today it felt like. Thomas, Toby, Tyree and Greathouse is a video-game style group. I like it.
3. Hoping the defense was soft because they spent too much early prep time on OSU’s playbook… but idk if teams even do that at this level lol. More likely that you’re hoping for Onye to keep developing and turning into a dude next to Cross, hopefully helping shore up the interior run D as the year goes on.
4. Carter starting to flash a little bit, even if he’s not actually making the plays yet. Another one where it would be perfect if the lightbulb has clicked on at the perfect time. He seems to be more of a run support DB right now.
5. Idk why… maybe I’m just a Pollyanna with Green-colored glasses on…. But it feels like Parker and Golden both have another level of playcalling and scheming they can hit. I’m hoping we’re watching a movie script unfold, where Parker has just been waiting to unleash the truly multiple, pick-your-poison offense. Either Hartman throws for 400+ and 5 TD’s next week in a win, or Estime goes for 200+ total scrimmage yards in a win. Golden has pressure packages in his back pocket that can actually GET HOME instead of being too telegraphed, and ND has 5 sacks and 2 turnovers in a win. Do it all at the same time and make a fucking statement! (More likely it’s a good battle that comes down to not letting OSU make a back-breaking big play in the passing game, and/or getting a turnover at a key time)
