We did not play four quarters of Fuck You Football.

I still cannot believe we let Coogan walk last year. I use those Coogan speeches for my son before his football games. Wore my "4 Quarters of Fuck You Football" shirt tonight. Coogan was a real leader, we need more of that. Craig needed to step up tonight. Disappointed, this BYU team was very beatable.

Notre Dames last 3 losses have been to top 10 teams by 1, 3 and 4…

Lose to Miami with a late FG

A&M gets a buzzer beater TD

Today…

Then the Ohio State beats us at the buzzer with 10 men on the field…

We are due to win these games right?

Edit… We have Penn State at the buzzer…
Nope because those teams didn’t beat ND. ND beat ND in all of them

Just based on what I saw tonight and what I’ve seen of Miami, yeah I think BYU has a much better defense. Even against Clemson who is offensively inept, Miami gave up a ton of yards. Clemson just kept blowing it in the red zone

BYU's defense is absolutely better than Miami's.

But Miami's offense is miles better than BYU's. It's not even close; Miami might have the best offense in college football. And ND looked absolutely perplexed about BYU's offense, which is basically "we're going to run that way. Try and stop us."

It doesn't bode well for confidence that ND can get the stops it'll need in three weeks.

“You have to review it,” Fox rules analyst Mike Pereira told The Athletic on Saturday night. “That had to be reviewed immediately.

“It is embarrassing for all officiating quite frankly. Everybody gets brought into this, even the NFL and high school officiating because it is such a ridiculous miss that has nothing to do with judgment. Nothing. I understand missing pass interference. This, especially after what happened six weeks ago, it’s embarrassing. They get one more play.”
Pereira literally just said on Fox halftime that he talked to the Big 12 replay office and they did look at it and cleared it LOL

End the fucking conference officiating system and go to a national office this is an insane way to operate a multi billion dollar industry

Someone at some point needs to be accountable. They keep protecting people and it keeps happening.

Which is more egregious. They would have been better off to just say they missed it.

Oh yeah that’s why my initial comment was that I think we’ll be able to pick our store in that game, but Miami almost certainly will too. Hopefully being at home can tip the scales a bit.

We might ultimately get some BS explanation that there was a separate clock that started before the broadcast clock and stadium clock.

Zero world where you review that and uphold it without being biased or legally blind.

The conference officiating system was somewhat defensible when conferences were small and regional. Minimized travel, encouraged consistency within league games.

Especially headed towards 24-team playoff, it needs to die.

^summary of today

We aren't special. Vegas and the Big 12 made a lot of money with that game ending how it did, but really the fault lies with some coaches and some players. Just a totally unserious approach to the game coupled with poor execution.

You either get better and beat Miami, or it's another "shoulda coulda woulda" 10 win season with a lot of blame to go around.

Yes but then Colorado State put up 23 on BYU, 1 less than ND. So…would CSU carve up Miami? Not being a dick, just curious since we are making comparisons because I don’t know how bad Miami’s defense is
CSU also did it with the 2nd and 3rd string QBs. Hejny (Okie State transfer), the starter, tore his hamstring on the 2nd series after torching them for seven on the 1st series.

Who should I blame for the team not all getting the flu shot earlier?

Like, seriously. We invest 9 figures into a building to get even the slightest edge in performance, but we can't be bothered to get a fucking flu shot?
Brother i think the flu thing was a joke....a bit like the flu shot (which i get from time to time)
