No one’s saying not to be upset. I’m sitting in the pitch dark on my chair wallowing lol. I just think saying the season is over is way premature. It wasn’t over after NIU. It’s certainly not over now. I leave this game less optimistic about the future, but for now I just gotta hope there’s no continuance against Miami

I don't think I'm saying the season is over. I'm going to be rooting like hell Halloween weekend, and I'll be in attendance on November 7.

But what do we have to go on, beyond pure subjective hope? I seriously mean that. Our best defensive players were no-shows against a bunch of guys either about to go on, or returning from, Mormon missions. Our four-star receivers couldn't get open against their B12 corners; yet their guys got open against our Top 5 secondary all night.

What, exactly, are we supposed to hope for against a Miami team that is 20x more talented than the team we lost to tonight? Ash has shown he can dominate piss-poor teams...but struggles against good offenses. And ND hasn't beaten a good, playoff-worthy team since Penn State in January 2025.

What am I hanging my hat on going into the back end of the season? How am I supposed to think this team doesn't end up 10-2?

It also kills me that, we’re kicking a game winning FG if CJ can just spike a god damn football. So much dumb ass stuff happened tonight. Boob going out 1 minute in. Fumbled spike. Getting beat on a double pass across the entire field. Just such a stupid game.
It’s why football is awesome. Despite all that we could’ve won.

Gilbert was tackled down at 6 seconds…alright 5 if you’re being generous on a play they DID REVIEW. They stuck with the on the field 4 seconds left. Seems like they neglected to even consider moving the clock.

Potentially was 2 seconds remaining. And 2 is a lot easier to not miss than 1….
This stuff is also on the coaching staff. Freeman needs to make a fuss. If he’s irate on the sidelines or asking for review, everyone is now aware as the game progresses and there’s more scrutiny.

Seconds were shaved in favor of BYU several times on the final drive, and it was never addressed.

Yeah. In a season defined by "Leave no doubt", from now until November 7th, we are left with nothing but doubt.

Alright I’m good. Got it out of my system. Onto the bye.

We’ll see what we’re made of in a couple weeks.

Love thee…even Mike Denbrock.

Part of me wonders if the new era of college football will favor less talented, hard working teams like BYU. Don’t have to deal with guys making business decisions

Absher was awesome in the 1H. I’d expect him as a 80-83 overall, but he definitely had trouble with the pressures EOG.

It won't.

Talent is talent. It's what you do with it is what matters.

BYU's guys were ready to play today. ND was going through the motions, and it cost them the game.

This also happened at the end of H1 during the spike debacle. Refs had held the clock at 9 while BYU was flopping around on the ground. Spike took 4 seconds somehow. Obviously didn’t matter, but still was a clear pattern.

Carr is going to throw for 146 yards against Miami and Toney is going to run open over the middle field all night, probably end up with 200 yards. Sorry, ND is going to get those cheeks clapped by Miami. No doubt here

Miami is an awful defensive team dealing with a ton of injuries, Denbrock and CJ will feast against them. Now, will we still lose because our defense apparently sucks suddenly? Definitely possible.

Edit - yall can laugh all you want but that’s the exact type of opponent Denbrock fools us against. Seems impressive, is actually not.

Freeman doesn't argue flags or lose his shit anymore. I'm sure at some point he's gotten pissed about a call but I legitimately can't remember him losing it on an official since the Orange Bowl.

Was a very BK type game. Did not feel like we emotionally met the moment at all. That happened last year against Miami but the weirdness of it being a RS Frosh QB's first start made me sort of excuse that. This was not something I was expecting from a Freeman team at this point in a season.
Yea, this wasn’t mid season form throughout the entire operation. Gameplan seemed flawed from the start and players were not prepared to play a good team.
