DL gets no pressure ever. Linebackers suck now (I understand what they meant by Schmidt = MVP) and there are some serious issues at safety.

A lot of people did in 2012 and 13. For the approach they took not much better.

He has just not shown the ability to adjust. Sometimes you have to do something different (not press man) if you don't have the bodies to do it. He has to adjust to his personnel.

Actually, to me it's kind of a holistic problem. D comes up big and the O turns right around and lays an egg. O is on fire D can't get a stop. This group just isn't playing like a team across the board at this point.

Yeah, this is the first game IMO where they've been downright awful with no mitigating circumstances.

Northwestern is an inept team. And they ran normal, legitimate offense all day long to the tune of 500+ yards.

He's in year one and has literally no depth to work with. There are bigger problems with this team.

Giving up this many yards and points to Northwestern is inexcusable, though. (EDIT) What am I saying? We looked like a Rich Rod Michigan defense out there today.

...which could have been 600 yards and 50 points if they didn't have numerous drops on wide open plays, including touchdowns.

I was looking forward to some passion on sidelines, getting in guys faces when messing up. Its not happening and I haz a sad, the D doesn't have a nasty to get guys fired up so it has to be him. I can only assume beet faces still talked about moment, is holding back ND coaches from getting after it. That's unfortunate

This is unheard of levels of badness on the defense. Looks like BVG cannot adjust his scheme to his personnel.
