Weis also demonstrated that ND could land elite recruits after Davie mostly complained about our academic requirements, and Willingham acted like recruiting was beneath him. I think Ty was the first to really lean into everyone wearing green in the stadium?IIRC, Weis was the one who finally got a training table at ND.
What are some other off the field triumphs coaches have had in making the program more competitive in the modern world?
I’m genuinely curious who is responsible for what in terms of where the program is from a positive contribution standpoint, not trying to flame any coaches.

Most of the more brick-and-mortar and staff investments came under Kelly.
To be fair, the game has changed so much since the pre-Weis era - there’s so much more money in it now - that any improvements made in the 2000s would feel antiquated. And, for all the complaints, Jenkins and Swarbrick seem far more invested in football than Malloy and Kevin White ever did.
