This whole southern accent thing is kind of silly. I had to listen to his speech 3 times to figure out where the accent took place. It was one word. I think he tripped over himself as he dealt with the echo of the stadium. You would think if he was really gunning for the southern accent thing it would've been a lot more prevalent.

Don't get me wrong, I kind of think it's funny that the viral video is making him look bad. LOL

I understand we’re piling on, and it’s hella fun, but that sounds nothing like I’ve heard come out of his mouth over the last twelve years.

Looking at the LSU board, I came across this little nugget.

Jamie Howard said on the radio yesterday that when he and his son visited ND last month Brian Kelly told him that Scott Woodward had contacted him. It was clearly more than one 45 min convo a week ago. This thing has been in the works for at least a month.

I’m thinking he wanted to dip his toe in the southern drawl pool saying “mah famlah” , and it got away from him as he continued. I’m guessing that he would delete this from the internet forever if he could because it’s embarrassingly terrible. It’s clear there’s been quite a bit of negative fallout (abandoning team, quick meeting, no wanted assistant coaches going to LSU, etc) and he is really trying to win over the fan base somewhat in a foolish attempt to channel a Boston version of Ed O….

I am pretty sure diving into gold coins like Scrooge McDuck will help him live it down though. I think I’d take the PR roast for that kind of loot
