lol what did she say? I didn't catch it since Book was talking, I think.

She didn't really say anything of note at the moment. I remember Mick Assaf saying that and she got muted, I think it was just the fact she was trying to interject/interrupt Book and Mick was like, "Nah, pipe down." She didn't really say anything else after that, and in fact I think she left shortly after.

Don't know if anyone else caught it, but she Tweeted this out earlier today. Damn, she jinxed it! This was before the news really hit too.

Tommy also hasn't had a Joe Burrow play for him. In his two years as OC he's had a pretty weak WR group to work with too, not to mention the struggles at OL this year. He's been successful anyway, good enough to make it to the playoffs both years. FWIW the players on the Twitter Space tonight all vouched for either Freeman or Rees to take over as HC because the players love them both.

It's too bad he didn't have any control over that.....

Jack Coan 2019 - 70% completion, 2,727 yards 18/5 TD/INT 151.8 rating (interesting enough, finished 2021 with 154.8 rating)
Joe Burrow 2019 (before Brady) - 58% completion, 2,894 yards 16/5 TD/INT 133.2 rating

Not saying Joe Brady made Joe Burrow, but it wasn't like Burrow was the odds on favorite to be Heisman and #1 overall pick either. The both made each other.

How was he responsible for the awful WR group in 2020? He took over during the pandemic and didn't even get a Spring ball. Still beat #1 Clemson (Yeah, missing players, so were we) and made it to the playoffs. They brought some really good players in this year in Styles and Colzie, those guys are the future but they're young. The OL issue is more on Quinn than anything, and the lack of recruiting in Hiestand's last year hurt depth a bit too. Lot of players vouched for Rees tonight, they love him. Golic Jr in particular mentioned that few have given more to ND in the last 10 years and gotten a lot of shit in return.

Saw some people saying $15 mil/year for Kelly to go to LSU. I'm not buying that. Other reports are saying about $10 mil/year (Possibly as part of incentives or without) and that seems at least more logical. Lets not forget that Saban is only getting $8.7 mil this year on his new deal and will make $11.5 mil in his final contract season 8 years from now. I don't see how LSU would be paying BK almost twice what Saban made this year.

“No,” Kelly said last week when asked if he’d ever leave Notre Dame. “I mean, look, I think Mike Tomlin had the best line, right? Unless that fairy godmother comes by with that $250M check, my wife would want to take a look at it first. I’d have to run it by her”….. I mean it was right there in front of us. This was BK saying come and get me. Haha.

Seems the team, current and past, are very clear about what they think on the matter.

Just make it happen.

Whether he is prepared at this time to be a HC or not, Freeman is the only hire that can keep this together. SIAP, but Balis is also a must keep.

Exactly. If Saban got that much, fine. But the best team BK has ever beaten was 2013 MSU. This played to his ego and he wants that title of highest paid. Nobody wants to turn that money down, but this is more about BK ego than pocket book IMO.

What coach isn't competitive (ego)? I'm as bummed as all of the non-haters, but the fact of the matter is, if you were in BK's shoes, you'd make the move. The removal of academic restrictions automatically makes it much easier to land more 4 and 5 star kids improving your chances to win a NC. That along with a huge bump in salary.

Developing a QB will be the same challenge for him.

Again it’s the way he left again. He preached to the guys to do the right thing then he didn’t. Makes his whole message while he was here a fraud.

Would really like to be a fly on the wall in that meeting right now. I imagine Kelly asked everyone to put their phones away and not record it, but have to believe a few of the players are recording it.

There never is a good time unless you're announcing your retirement in the next 1-2 years.

Read last night that LSU went after Kelly when they announced Ed O is finished.

Lax, hearing anything coming out of the meeting?

After the short term shitshow, I think we will all find life was better because of BK being here, but life moving forward will be better without him.

BK set the table, but it has been obvious for awhile someone else needs to take it home.

I WOULDNT FEAR FOR US. I WOULD FEAR FOR HIM.

He is about to face the stark reality that
his little dick energy in big games wont go unnoticed or be excused anymore.

I honestly cant think of a starker contrast between two programs. He will literally be able to do whatever he wants now. Is he ready to shoulder blame with those excuses gone, or will he still heap it on everyone except himself?

I dont fear for him. He gets $100 million and has a proven track record.

I fear for ND somewhat, but things will be fine.... in this life or the next

I don't know if Freeman can cut it or not but I am willing to go with him 100%. Fickell would only come if he understood that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will be greater than being boat raced in the playoff. And the irony of it all if Fickell comes to ND, OkSt loses and he coaches ND to a win in the playoff lol.

Unfortunately this will set the program back no matter what happens.

We have dealt with Covid, Michigan beating OSU, probably winning the BIG and going to the playoff and actually competing for a National Championship and now our program is cratered.

It is the End Times.

Apparently Sabah has a clause in his contract that he has to be paid at least as much as the top three coaches in the SEC or the top 5 coaches nationally. So people expect he will be getting a raise because of the recent contracts.
